So I took BEC today and it was my first CPA exam I’ve taken. For background, I went in feeling fairly confident. I was trending around 84% on ninja and got an 87% on my last Becker mock exam. I didn’t think the test was all that bad, I think I noticed a difference in testlet 2. The questions werent super hard overall, but could tell they were trying to throw curveballs. Of the MCQ, one I had no idea how to do and then handful of others I had them narrowed down.

The sims were another thing, one of the four I had absolutely no idea how to do. It was never tested or practiced in any of my reviews and I literally just filled in random numbers. The other 3 were reasonable so I’m hoping the first was a pretest and gets thrown out.

The WC section weren’t as simple topics as the ones I had practiced for which I knew the buzzwords they were looking for. So we’ll see how that section shakes out.

Based on experiences I’ve read about I’m not feeling super confident, but if they throw out my bad sim then I feel like I should safely pass.

Dude, you literally just posted absolutely nothing of substance. This is a site where people come to commiserate about the difficulty of the exam, not gloat about how easy it was for you. I will probably get heat for saying this either from moderators or other commenters, but honestly, take that shit somewhere else.

I can’t tell you about the actually questions, but I can tell you about my preparation and then how I felt it was. Not trying to get into trouble for divulging the actual topics. It’s helpful to know how much work people are putting in and their thoughts on the difficulty after that amount of studying.

Dude people talk about getting ~50's on Becker mocks and getting in the '80s, which I am sure you have heard suggested. I can't speak to your actual intentions, but the post comes off as braggy rather than you making an effort to provide help.

Definetly not the intention, the posts here seem to be only negative which doesn’t appeal to the entire breadth of people who come here to understand what the test is like. The point of the post is to give people that think they have prepared similarly what their possible exam experience could be like. If the only experiences posted are people who didn’t think they were confident going in and then thought they failed then only a certain group of people would get something out of it.

Did you report me? It says my post is awaiting moderation

Also, you didn't describe what the test was like, and yes you can do that without disclosing specific exam content. You basically just talked about how easy it was for you. You also didn't give any indication as to what your study methods are. Am I jealous, probably? But you have to remember that people use this site as a sort of therapy, and it's kind of annoying to see people gloating.

    No I didn’t report you, I’m not a child.

If you wanted more background on study habits and maybe more specific exam experience that’s what the comment section of a post is for.

I took the exam on the 20th, waiting for the 03/08 release. Pretty sure I bombed the MCQ, so when I read your post about how easy it was it makes me feel like shit, which I realize is not your fault obviously. Anyways sorry for being a dick, I'm sure you did great.

You’re good I know the feeling. The pit in my stomach is those MCQs you think you got right for sure, but there’s that little technicality in the wording you didn’t notice so your wrong. There’s always a few of those that turn on me. I don’t know about your MCQs but I felt like they really skipped over huge chunks of topics.

Yeah exactly. I WAS mostly frustrated that the exam completely neglected to test major sections that the AICPA lists as having major percentages of the exam. Economics for example I think is projected to have maybe 10-15%, I didn't get one question on Econ, which sucks because my first bachelors was in econ. For FAR, it seemed like the questions had a fair showing in each major category, and was as advertised by the AICPA. This test was absolutely not as advertised, and I would have had a better chance if I only studied one or two areas. Thank god the sims/wc were softballs, and for the difficult sim were you talking about the one that had the increase in electricity usage(FYI I don't think this is breaking disclosure rules as the context is virtually undecipherable)

My sim was aboout inventory so different. But same experience with the Econ. Was supposed to be the second biggest part of the test and was definitely not as advertised.

Each test is different so our sims were nothing a like, but seems like the MCQ topic allocation was similar.

Ok but you gave no indication as to how you prepared unless you are assuming that people have read your other posts. Posting a trending score/mock exam score doesn't describe your study habits/methods of preparation. With no prior knowledge of your situation the post basically reads as you crushed your mock, then crushed the actual thing. I am definitely probably giving you an overly hard time, but you have to consider that people use this website as a sort of therapy.
