Studying AUD is Boring!!! - Page 2

    How do you guys sit and study a topic that you have absolutely no interest in? I’m about to sit for AUD at the end of Feb and I’m having problems just sitting with the material. Any tips? Or is this just a suck it up and get over it situation?

    I usually see Post Test Scotch Drinking after the exams a lot though

    So your telling me it gets worse??!!!! Seriously sometimes the only thing that gets me thru test prep is…….

    “Look (insert name here) has his/her CPA. If they were able to pass the test, then surely I can pull this off….”

    Just wait till you study FAR. I hated that book and it has 10 chapters!! Thank god AUD is only 6.

    But seriously though I just finished chapter 4 in AUD and I blacked out the whole chapter and have no idea what I just read

    All of the studying sucks. If you want it bad enough, you will get through it. We've all struggled with boredom, anxiety, doubting ourselves, etc.

    Did you take REG yet? I see it's in your signature as 1/15. If so, how did that go?

    Don't forget you are monetarily invested, that was enough to keep me focused. I'd prefer to get through the exams while keeping my cost/exam low (i.e. not having to pay for multiple retakes), good luck.

    Audit sucks. Just get through it. Just cover all the material. I hated it so much I did most of it in the last week, but I wouldn't recommend that strategy.

    Florida CPA!
    Took final exam 2/25/15.
    Sent in Application 3/12/15.
    Issued License 3/20/15.
    Used CPA Excel solely for all exams.

    ^ This. I found Audit more frustrating than boring. Made me want to throw my laptop against the wall every time I'd miss an MCQ due to small wording differences. BEC, imo, is more boring to me. Economics and cost accounting…blegh….Just have to power through it. For every hour of studying I do, I give myself 30 minutes in Battlefield 4 to blow off steam.

    Yes. I took it on Jan 5. Patiently* waiting on Feb 4 score release.

    *Overly anxoiusly, about to pull my hair out, and want to punt something every time I think about it
