I took AUD yesterday (5/25), I did very well on MCs. I might be wrong 4 MCs for each testlet. But regarding communication part, I couldn’t write longer than 2 extremly short paragraphs, which are about 7 lines at the most. I type slowly, and English is not my first language. The other part of simulation was 50% correct , I beleive. Is there any chance for me to pass it?
I’d like to focus on questions in simulations. Do you guys know any review materials that have a bunch of simulations to work on?  I used Becker. They don’t offer a lot of simulations to pratice with?
    I couldn’t sleep last night!!!

I also have an inherently hard time writing memos on the spot. I am just naturally more analytical and numbers oriented and lack faith in my writing capabilities or the intelligence of my answer. I think it is important to remember that you should keep your sentences concise and to the point. I try not to over think the answers and just give a decent answer. This may come naturally to some but I really hate professional writing. However, it is very much prominent in the profession of our choice we must adapt and become accustomed to the challenge ahead.

You mentioned that you typed short responses. This might actually help you.

short responses are fine.  I passed, and on one communication I had 3 paragraphs, 1 I had 2 paragraphs.  I don't think any paragraph was even 7 sentences long.

    AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81

I've got both, short and long responses in the past, and, even when I failed REG – my communication was still stronger than average (according to performance report). As long as you use terminology related to the rule and build your response logically – you should be fine. One of my Becker instructors said that even if you get the rule incorrectly, – it is all right as long as you don't give illegal advice, make sense, and use key words.
P.S. you, guys, do know that you can use research tab to find the rule for memo, right?.. I think it makes it very easy if you do.

Thanks for your advice. I hear that of the 2 simulations, only 1 will be picked out and graded. Is it true?

That is true about memos – only one will be graded (unfortunately there is no way to tell which one). But other tabs will be graded for both simulations (unless there is some pre-tested material in them, which might happen I believe).

You can do bad on the written communication and still pass the exam. On FAR I did below the average passing person on the written memo and still scored in the 80's. I think these tests are graded easily or something.. I honestly  bombed the rest of the simulations…didnt even answer the research question and still scored above the average on the simulation part.

I have the same problem, too.  English is not my first language.  I've always been worried taking the exam because of the written communication portion.  But thank you for the other comments and the suggestion for utilizing the research tab.  I've heard about that, too( but some would only recommend it when you still have enough time left).  But I will certainly use this technique if, when worse comes to worst, i got blocked out or something.  Thank you again.  It, somehow, make me feel a li'l relieved.

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

THanks a lot for all of your quick advice, and share. I wish I knew this forum earlier, so that I can utilize it most for my exam. Now, I know what I should do for my Comm tab for coming exams.

I'm planning to take audit at the beginning of July but I was so scare for the simulations part. As many of you English is not my first language and actually I'm not good in writing professionally in Spanish then can you imagine in English and under such a pressure? I'm sure I'm terrible.
I took FAR on 05/05 and I'm still waiting for my score. I think I did good on MCQs but too bad in the sims.
The first one that I took was BEC (84) because it is just MCQs not writing comm.
My husband took the Series 6 and 63 licenses and in both test he got extra time for being English his second language. Does anybody know if something like that exist for the CPA tests? Extra time would be really helpful for me, specially in FAR.
Can anybody tell me how is audit comparing with FAR?
