I’m about to start studying Audit tomorrow and was wondering how long it takes most people to study this section so I can have an idea of how I should set up my schedule. I’ll be using CPA Excel and purchasing Ninja MCQ after I finish the book.

I think I spent way too much time on lectures and made too many notes previously. After talking to some people on this forum today I think i’ll just read the book, watch lectures if I can’t grasp the text, write brief notes, and go over previous MCQs from prior chapters.

Also, is there anyone who has used Ninja Audio for Audit?

AUD was my first exam and I gave myself 6 weeks. Felt good going into the exam but got murdered by the sims and barely passed with a 76. Did the Wiley course (no videos) and about 850 Ninja MCQ. Probably had close to 120 hours, but definitely was not efficient as it was my first rodeo

I spent maybe 2 months or so on AUD the first time, using just Wiley, and failed with 73…used Ninja mcqs and sims plus Bob's videos and passed with 79 on the retake. Make sure you watch those videos! He has a way of teaching that is amazing. I did nonstop mcqs and when I got to the exam I blew through both mcq testlets in an hour. I knew I nailed them, too. Now, I took FAR last month (retake) and I don't feel the same way about it as I did AUD so I am on pins and needles 🙁

I studied 11 days at approximately 7 hours a day. That was enough time to complete Becker's lecture, MCQ's, and SIMS and all the mock exams. I would say that's definitely the minimum amount of time you should do. We'll see if that worked out for me.

I spent roughly 18 days studying. 50 hours of MCQ/SIMS and another 20 on videos and note review. My advice is it isn't the amount of days/time that you spend studying, it is how comfortable you feel with the material.

It took me 5 weeks to prepare for AUD using Wiley CPAexcel. I spent 4 weeks going over all the material and 1 week for a comprehensive review. I'll find out if that was enough on June 28.

I studied AUD over 6 weeks. I work a full time job about 50 hours a week but hammered AUD using becker for a few hours each night after work. I did the lectures / sims / and really hammered the mcqs during breaks at work and after each night being done with lectures. I was really worried about AUD since I havent looked at auditing since college 10 years ago. I got 82's on the becker mock exams. I felt pretty good about the exam leaving, but will let you know next week. I didnt really study much on the weekends either though, until two weeks before the test. Too busy with the kids.

18 days at around 8 hours a day.

I took FAR on May 18 and made the last minute decision to squeeze AUD in before the end of Q2. I don't like auditing but I had a great auditing professor in college which really helped. Also, AUD was my third exam so by that point I had a really good idea of what worked for me.

I listen to most of the lectures in a chapter, and then attempt the MC. I only go through the MC once, so the completion percentage in each module shows me which ones I sucked at. After I get through the book, I go back and finish the MC and try and learn what I didn't grasp initially, and I do all of the sims last. Then i just review by doing the the mock exams and lots of MC. I learn better when I have a big picture understanding, and seeing topics multiple times helps hammer things down. Good luck!

I probably have somewhere in the 75 hour range right now on AUD. I started AUD around 5/21 and moved my exam up from 7/14 to 7/1 so I can take REG in Q3 (have only really studied maybe half or less of the material for REG last year). My approach has been to study approx. 2 hours Mon-Fri, then about 6 to 7 hours on Sat, and maybe 2 hours on Sun. For the weekdays I find that waking up between 4am and 5am I can study before the kids and wife wake up without too many distractions.

My progress in that time frame feels like it is better than my previous attempts. I have about 40 hours into the NINJA MCQ's with almost 1700 questions completed, have seen each question at least once, with an overall avg of 75% and a trending of about 78%. In my previous exam attempts I have never completed all questions at least once. I also prioritized staying on my desired schedule so that I had more time to get through the MCQs. I think that is important and I feel it has helped. If you have to skim over a chapter because its taking too long, skim it write only the important notes and keep moving.

I am in my last week of review and take the exam this upcoming Sunday. I do feel comfortable with the material at this point, just a bit nervous about the SIMs. I am trying to just get through review of my weaker areas, and doing 20 or 30 sets of MCQs to keep it familiar. Also, I am going to kick in heavy review of the Ratios this week and also review as many JE's as possible a few days before the exam. I hear that the SIMs are known to hit you on how the Ratios affect accounts, how AJE's affect the Ratios, and what AJE's need to be made, which is what typically makes people feel like the AUD SIMs are really difficult. Luckily I just took FAR on 5/19, so hopefully I will do okay with what they throw at me on the SIMs.

If you all can add anything else to what you should be doing for the final week review, let me know. I am all ears!
