I really need advice for the audit section! I failed and felt okay about it going in and out of the test, now I’m going to retake it probably in a few weeks to a month! But I’m using Becker and need tips on how to re-study the book/topics! Should i go in order (A1-A6) or should i try a different approach, like figuring out all of the reports & different types of engagements at once (A1&A6). Not really sure how to approach studying for this test again, it’s very discouraging!!!

You will not want to hear this, but you should start completely over like you have never studied it before. Every exam is completely different and you need to study to get 75 points, not 5 or 10 more. Also, presenting the information to yourself in a different way might help.

    Good luck!

I agree with @stilgoin you should start from the beginning but if you are very sure about certain chapters I wouldn’t spend a much time on that one. You should get 80% plus on all mcqs and progress exams from each chapter.

@stilgoin yeah that’s what i figured and was afraid of!! Thank you though, i guess I just needed to hear it. What materials helped you!? I only have Becker right now but was thinking of getting the NINJA notes.

I would really spend a lot of time really understanding the concepts of audit. I failed my first time too and felt pretty comfortable with the material but didn't completely understand all of the different forms of testing and why it was done/when it was used. You really have to think like auditor!

I had very good luck with Becker and Audit- I would supplement with NINJA Scout where you get the Notes and the MCQs. Do the Becker lectures and take notes, and work the NINJA MCQs. Also, I recorded my NINJA Notes to a voice memo on my phone and would listen to them on the way to the testing center. I cannot stress how important listening to those notes were in order for me to pass. There are so many small details that it is easy to get them confused. With Audit, knowing the specific details and exact wording is the difference between pass and fail.

I supplemented Becker for all my tests. I supplemented FAR as well, but didn't have enough time to give the Ninja MCQ the time they deserve…And failed. For my retake I am definitely going heavy with Ninja while using Becker for the book and SIMS. If you haven't used Ninja to supplement, do it. Their SIMS for AUD were also very good at preparing me on test day!

@chelsie I know I sound like a broken record with the rest of the responders, but I agree that you must start from page 1. Especially, when you think about it, you went the whole period between taking the exam and getting your score without studying (assuming you thought you passed and didn't see the need to continue studying AUD during that time of waiting on the score).

AUD was actually the only section I passed on the FIRST try, and I only used Becker, so it was sufficient for me. However, for all 3 of the other sections, I used NINJA Notes, and for BEC and REG, I used Ninja MCQ, and for REG I used Ninja Audio as well. I highly recommend all 3 of those products, but if you're just trying to nail the concepts home, Ninja MCQ is great practice. It has great explanations of why the correct answer is correct, and why the other options are incorrect. Not to mention it includes some practice SIMS (assuming it hasn't changed since January (when I finished my exams).

To recap: start your Becker AUD course on page 1. Set an exam date, and budget out your time between now and then to study as much as you need to to be ready. Also, Ninja notes are an incredible supplement, and should get you over that hump.

I hope this has been helpful!
