CandaceParticipantCongratulations to all that passed. I can't even begin to imagine the feeling. I wish I stumbled onto this forum earlier in the year.
I had a lot of pension questions too in Audit when I took the exam but not anywhere in my study materials.
Where can I find study materials on this topic?REG- 69- Felt discouraged.. took a break.
AUD- 69, 74- The worst feeling ever. Far more painful than a break up.September 20, 2016 at 11:26 am #840870
AnonymousInactiveThere wasn't any information in Roger about pension audits – or at least not to the extent I saw on the exam. Even the questions I stumbled across in Ninja that sort of related to pensions didn't go into near the information that the exam asked. I just tried to ignore the fact that is was pension specific and use my general audit knowledge to get to an answer I was comfortable with. Who knows if I got them right or maybe they were test-test questions and didn't matter.
I guess the one thing to remember is its hard to know everything that will be tested and as long as you have a grasp of the majority of the information, then a few very specific like that shouldn't stop you from passing.

mckan514wParticipantAw man Dab I'm sorry to read that- you will get it next time and like aa said have a great reason to celebrate on New Years- scott Flemming bummed for you as well. These test really suck
@tman102938- have to echo what allaboard said. Roger really didn't cover it in the materials- there was one chapter that briefly touched on it but read along the lines of “if you are auditing a pension plan consider hiring a pension expert”- like allaboard I just tried to ignore the fact that it was pension and answered them like I would have a normal audit… however I did come home after my exam and google and bookmark the following in case of retest… hope it helps GOOD LUCK

Kewl DewdParticipantI took FAR on Sept. 1 and reviewed my scores today – i received a 54. I'm very disappointed but i know i can pass this thing because the exam wasn't intimidating at all. I self-studied using the Becker CPA Review Exam – any additional pointers, techniques or strategies suggested on this blog would be greatly appreciated.

AnonymousInactive@tman102938 you'll get it the second time. I got a 71 my first try – it's just a warmup:)
I wish we could get results back that showed what exactly we got wrong – for all you know, you guess right on those! But I think a lot of us got hung up on the pension questions and they burned themselves into our memory because they came out of nowhere and it wasn't just one question that could be easily brushed off.

TheodoreParticipantWorst night of my life since I started studying for these exams. Never felt so nervous to know my score, but I PASSED! Thank you baby jesus!! BEC here I come! Scored strong on all 6 sections of the MCQs, but weak on SIMs. Those SIMs hate me, or I hate them. 79.
Congratulations to everyone who passed! and Let's stay strong Dab, Scott, and everyone else. Keep these Forum going just like we did in Q3. It really does help. Good luck everyone!

mckan514wParticipant@rosy0407- I just don't know what to tell you there. I primarily used Ninja MCQ's the first time around supplemented with Roger's and failed with a 71…. that being said I was actually stunned and beyond devastated that I failed. I felt really well prepared for the exam and honestly have no clue where I was “tripped up”… I actually walked out of the exam thinking I had blown it out of the park… for my retake I bought the Ninja Notes and am concentrating on those and the MCQ's– In my honest opinion BEC has been the biggest crap shoot thus far. The material is all over the place and then the exam I think is kind of luck of the draw on what you get. Wish I could be more helpful.

HelloCPAParticipantCan someone please help clarify the “OTHER THAN..” part of this text below? Thanks!
the auditor must communicate all known and likely misstatements (even immaterial), identified during the audit, OTHER THAN THOSE THE AUDITOR BELIEVES ARE TRIVIAL, to the appropriate level of management on a timely basis.

aatouralParticipantDon't you guys wish to take REG again? 🙂 I need company there lol
BEC is very random I agree with mckan, but if you have the Becker book, I would say just read the book, make your notes and get ninja MCQs. I like to listen to lectures but just becuase I like poeple talking to me to retain stuff.

AnonymousInactive@rosy0407 at the minimum I'd get ninja notes and MCQ.
Other suggestions I have for spending your money;)
As slightly ridiculous as they are – I did find the new ninja videos to be helpful.
I also found the ninja audio to be useful on my commute – but if you don't have a commute, then it might not be worth it.
I do like roger's video, but there's no way to get just the videos – maybe just the book so you have something that has a little more meat to it compared to the Ninja notes. I found that sometimes the MCQ explanations and notes didn't help me all that much and the book helped fill in some blanks for me. or maybe the Ninja book would do this, too, I've never tried that one. -
