JTParticipantI agree with A as well.
I have a ninja mcq question for you guys….
Under the Statements on Standards for Consulting Services, which of the following statements best reflects a CPA’s responsibility when undertaking a consulting services engagement? The CPA must:
A. not seek to modify any agreement made with the client.
B. not perform any attest services for the client.
C.inform the client of significant reservations concerning the benefits of the engagement.
D.obtain a written understanding with the client concerning the time for completion of the engagement.
I got the correct answer of c. But isn't b also a good answer? For attest engagements, you need to be independent, so there should be an independence issue (in appearance) if the group does consulting and atestation.

Forem004ParticipantI just did a research question and answered au-c 580.03. Ninja marked it wrong and said the correct answer was au-c 580. How am I supposed to know when it's talking about the entire section when only the detailed parts are listed such as .01, .02 and .03….

pharaohParticipant@JT – You don't have to be independent to perform a compilation which is an attest engagement.

JTParticipantPharaoh and forem004, or anyone else in this forum, I would like your advice on this…. I'm not sure if you guys failed an exam before,… But I have a little dilemma with how I should prepare for my and retake.
This is from another post on the main thread.
I asked this before but I need to get some guidance because I'm pretty confused on how to approach my retake.
“I failed AUD with a 69.
MCQ: 3 stronger,
2 comparable,
1 weaker=
overall mcq is strongerSims=weaker
My first take preparation:
go through becker lectures, take notes and do hw
I listened to ninja audio a ton and I did 6k ninja mcqs. I read the ninja notes a couple times (honestly, writing the ninja notes have never helped me before and it might be a waste to my learning style).
=FAILI took 1 month off and I'm back at it.
The last 3 weeks I went thru the ninja book, chapter by chapter and completed each section of the ninja mcqs by hitting “new questions”. I just finished the 1630 ninja questions and I'm in the 90% area without doing repeats (missed only 160).
I feel like I might be memorizing questions from my first attempt. I plan to go through and hit ninjas ‘missed last time' and ‘random' questions.
But then what? My exam is in 3 weeks.
Here are my options:
-Keep hitting ninja questions?
-get roger/Wiley test bank and sims?
-possibly use ninja test bank and the second test bank?
-hit the sims hard?
-read the ninja notes more?
-use more of the AL is my preparation?I feel like I have room to improve with my mcq's but I think I need to improve on my foundation and use the AL more.
The biggest problem is that I truly feel like I can't improve from my first attempt. As in “I felt like I was as prepared as I could ever be” walking into and out of the testing room!!
Because of this 1) I think a new test bank will help change things up 2) im pretty dam confused on how I can improve. “

pharaohParticipant@JT –
That's a tough question 🙂
I see that you passed 3 parts already, I am assuming you were following the same strategy that worked for you before, just there was no luck with audit. The questions to you, the comparable and weaker areas, do you feel that you really need improvement in those areas? Do you think you are better in them now?
When you are answering questions, even if you memorized it, do you know why that answer was the correct one? Do you try to explain it to yourself or imagine if you are trying to explain it to someone else, can you explain it?
How are you doing now with SIMS? I believe, if you have good understanding of the concepts, you can do well on the SIMS (At least that's how it is for me)Maybe Wiley test bank can be a good idea, I don't think Roger would be good enough in the time frame you have.
Personally, what worked for me with FAR is Roger lectures and NINJA MCQs and my notes were only from the questions that I missed since these were my weak points. If I was making mistakes repeatedly in a specific topic, this is when I went back to the book and the video or even searching online for an easy explanation and would make notes for that topic.
Hope that helps. Good luckFAR 8/2016

user2701ParticipantI am not happy with ROGER lectures & text book for AUD. Just bought it recently & started off with AUD for my exam on Dec 3.
I need to make quick call on which book should I go ahead with.
Feeling demotivated.

Forem004ParticipantI failed far and REG the first time with another program. I passed both after just doing questions repeatedly on ninja. I passed BEC for the first time, barely, doing the same thing. I did have the whole package for BEC but I didn't spend that much time with it. I listened to audio for a couple of weeks bc I had to drive a lot for work. I think I read over some of the notes one time. So my advice is questions, questions and more questions! Like pharaoh said, a way to combat memorizing questions is to explain to yourself why the answer is right so you can answer it in another form.

Sticky NickyParticipanthow can you be unhappy w Roger when u just started and havent even taken the exam yet? Honestly Roger is wayyyy better than any other material for AUD,,,its his strongest section and I can tell you this because I'm getting 100s on practice tests on Ninja now,,,plus when i look at other questions on Becker and Wiley I know pretty much all of them as well,,,maybe one or two per sections which isnt bad when you have sections with 60 plus questions..Roger is the man!
November 5, 2016 at 1:03 pm #1313657
Forem004ParticipantSomeone asked a question about a piecemeal opinion. I'm not looking back to find out if it was answered but I said there was something specific about being allowed to issue a report on one statement. As long as there's not a scope limitation to inquire on the others it's allowed.
November 5, 2016 at 1:03 pm #1313659
pharaohParticipant@user2701 – I would say give Roger more chance. I know the first section or two are extremely boring and he does a lot of reading but later when he gets to the meat, he is the man.
I can tell you from now, Becker lectures will be worse, it will be just reading, highlight this, underscore that for 3-4 hours for each chapter plus they don't through the auditing process in the normal sequence, they start with the audit report. So if you don't have auditing background/enough knowledge about it, this can be very confusing and hard to follow.
Gleim is even worse than Becker, monotone, also reading the book but they are showing it as presentation.
I don't know about Wiley.

Forem004ParticipantI am running into this situation a lot more in studying for audit than I have the others. I'm able to answer a lot more if the questions by deciding what is not right. Is anyone else seeing this more with this section than the others?
