How did you do last time?

I got a 69 and not too sure how to prepare again.

First time I went through becker and did ninja mcq's with some becker mcqs.

This time, Im reading the ninja book and going through the ninja mcqs by each CSO.

Last time I was stronger in Mcqs and weaker in sims. Im considering getting a new test bank as well (maybe wiley/gleam).

@JT got a 73 last time. Stronger on MCQ. Weaker on Sims. So hard to prepare for SIMS. I've done close to 3,000 MCQ in these three weeks. Both from Becker and NINJA. Avg 81 and Trending 88. So hopefully I pass this time.

Your not too far off with the 73! Just a little more push from your first attempt and you should be good!

My problem is also with the sims. Im not sure how I can do better for my retake. Sims are hard to prepare for. Im doing a lot more reading this time. My approach is definitely different this time by specifically attacking each CSO.

Are you doing anything different this time compared to your first attempt? Or are you approaching it the same way when you took it the first time?

@JT Just doing a few SIMs from Becker and NINJA. I also started printing out the different reports from the AICPA and read those at night before bed. I'm also reviewing adjusting entries and reading the book as well. Last time I had 3 FAR sims that caught me off guard and would prob explained why I came up short. Each testing experience is different, but you may never know if the same FAR sims show up.

DANG Aud is killing me. Score in the 60's and 70's on these hw in becker. The wordings are so confusing.

I had a similar experience with the Far sims showing up on my AUD exam.

@Spartans92. It helps to create charts for the different opinions and reports.The same can be done for assertions, which I had a really hard time trying to understand. Having some sort of visual aid boosted my hw scores into the high 80's and mid 90's on Becker. Know the different rules surrounding nonissuer and issuer. Good luck.

O,… and where are you getting copies of the different reports from the AICPA site? The ones I see require a membership.

is it the same as the ones in Becker? Because I have those.

@JT I just go on google and type the name of the report I am looking for. The links you want are the PDF links to the AIPA website.

This one below is your standard Audit report. It is a boring read, but it covers and clarify small details that you might have glanced over in Becker. If you look closely, a lot of the cpa questions literally take sentences from the report and quiz you on it.

so I am about a week and half into my studying for AUD and have completed about 75% of all the homework for chapter 1-5 in Becker. Planning on completing chapter 6 of Becker this weekend and knockout some SIMS too. I take AUD November 14th. This will be my second attempt. First attempt my head was not completely in the game during the studying.

My question to all of you: I have roughly two weeks for a “review”, should I make the investment for NINJA MCQ AUD or stick with Becker? I'm on the fence with the decision just based on the fact the questions are conceptual vs. calculations (which I loved NINJA MCQ for FAR and REG).

Any advice helps. Thanks.

@AlejandroGarcia I thought Becker questions were very similar to some of the questions I saw on the test. I only got NINJA MCQ because I needed another test bank since I was memorizing the questions from Becker. The NINJA question are definitely harder than Becker in my opinion. I would probably just stick to one test bank and just drill nonstop. Do sets of 30 questions to simulate the exam.
