So just a random question, whoever said that if you get 2 research questions one of them will be dropped?

I took audit today and had 2 research questions as well as another sim that i feel did not belong.

Is it possible that both research q's counted for me?

I heard it many times that if you get 2 research questions one of them is dropped.

Just wondering where the source of this information came from

I took my AUD exam yesterday, and felt that my MCQ's testlets got easier (difficult to determine). Am thinking in the worst case that- odds of not passing this time is high. Anybody had similar feeling, and ending up passing this section? I have failed previous 2 attempts. So am not getting the feeling of passing this section.

I do know that if the testlets keep getting easier it is not a good sign; should I be optimistic of passing this time, and start prep for my next section or should I still solve questions from AUD? Any advice greatly appreciated!

Substantive Procedures are broken down into two main categories – tests of details and ‘substantive' analytical procedures. See AUC-520. Analytic procedures must be performed during the risk assessment phase (‘understanding the entity') and during the phase of forming the overall conclusion of the audit. They can be used to complement tests of details or when tests of details – by themselves – aren't sufficient.

Is there an easy way of telling if something falls into audit planning versus the audit strategy?

Not 100% sure, but it would make sense that the planning stage is where you develop the audit strategy. What is tripping you up?

@aspiring1accountant – If audit procedures are mentioned then think ‘Audit Plan'; for more ephemeral terms like ‘characteristics', ‘reporting objectives', ‘knowledge', and ‘factors' choose ‘Audit Strategy'.

AUC-300.07 – “The auditor should establish an overall audit strategy that sets the scope, timing, and direction of the audit and that guides the development of the audit plan.”

AUC-300.09 describes what needs to be documented in the plan – (risk assessment, NET of further audit procedures, and other procedures).

@mtwst113 – Both the audit strategy and the audit plan should be examined throughout the entire audit process and tweaked if necessary.
