    Hi everyone,

I've got an old Becker book. 2011 Edition. I'm wondering if there are material differences between this version and 2014. Anyone have any thoughts? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am, taking BEC hopefully around November 20, and REG on November 30.

Make sure you guys work the crap out of the AL feature. I got one question 100% from it and another one straight out of it as well.

I took FAR on the 1st and Audit today so a two week difference there. Only amazing if I pass though. How's your studying coming along and when do you take your exam?

@CPAHOPEFUL11, I scheduled to take AUD on 10/30. I'm almost done with all NINJA mcq for AUD and will be moving onto the Sims. Hopefully I have enough time from today to the 30th to complete the MCQ and Sims and do some final review.

I hope to take BEC next, but I don't know when I will do that. I want to see if I can fit BEC and REG into november. I just finished a masters in taxation program so hopefully that will help with REG. Then take FAR in January.

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 91
    REG - 91

Oh if you are familiar with tax then it is just a matter of getting down the law part. Granted, it is pretty tricky and takes a lot of practice to master. I've yet to get there but am improving my scores.

Don't spend THAT much time on the sims. Unlike FAR, practicing them nonstop is irrelevant. Make sure you practice the audit procedures sims and internal control sims. They help not only on the sims, but also on the MCQ. If I were you, I'd about 6-8 sims a day and the rest MCQ.

@CPAHOPEFUL, actually I've been working in tax most of my career. Researching the code/regs/case law/irs prounucements is basically all I do.

Thanks for the advice, I actually dread the sims because as you can see I overthink a lot of these questions (habit developed from working with tax law) and the sims will probably drive me up the wall. I will take your advice and work through the quantity of sims you mentioned per diem.

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 91
    REG - 91

Yeah, you are one of the few that actually knows TOO much LOL. For FAR you actually need to know how to do every journal entry so that's why practicing the sims is so valuable, but it doesn't quite work that way for AUD. For this test it is all about knowing the material and most of it comes from the MCQs.

@CPAHOPEFUL11, what was your study technique? Did you go through any text like becker books, or cpaexcel books? Or did you dive right into the MCQs and sims?

    AUD - 91
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 91
    REG - 91

No, I continually read the Roger HW book and did the HW problems on the wiley book along with using WTB/Ninja MCQ.
