Hey! I just took the AUD exam yesterday. Failed the Q1 exam with a 68. My weakness is the TBS for sure but this time around they seemed easier (relatively speaking). If I fail again I think I am going to concentrate on the FAR exam and retake AUD right after I pass FAR. Seems AUD takes a lot of material from FAR for their TBS which is why I struggle.

Can someone explain the expiration date on passed exams? Does my pass score need to be released by the expiration date or do I need to sit for the last exam before the expiration date? For example if my expiration date is 3/10 can I sit for an exam on 3/9? If I pass it the score will be released after the expiration date. I'm sure regardless the board will probably waive the expiration because it is so close but I just want to check.

DO you use Ninja MCQ? I heard the actual exam MCQ is a lot harder than the Ninja MCQ, this makes me really worried cuz im not even trending well for Ninja MCQ.

I use Roger CPA review so I can't really say. They were not any harder than the Roger MCQ, I think. This is my second time taking the AUD exam and the first time I left I felt I crushed it so I am very hesitant to say that this exam was easy or hard. I definitely didn't think it was hard but I may have failed it just the same.

With that being said, I don't feel comfortable taking a CPA exam unless I get at least 80% on all my practice quizzes.

@EI: Sadly I know too much about credit expiration. So as long as you're sitting for your last within the 18 month window from when you passed your 1st section, and assuming you pass, you should be good. The date of the actual score release has no impact on your 18 months.

@allsheneeded – been on the road a few years ago when I lost FAR. nothing worst than loosing a passed part. credit expiry absolutely sucks!!

wow sorry @famh110! FAR credit lost is a tough one to swallow. How's the prep coming along? I'm switching between Becker and Ninja and doing mcqs. Not doing so hot right now on either 🙁

Hi Everyone, I just took FAR last week and sit for AUD August 6th. I'm lacking any motivation to study right now and having a hard time going thru the beginning chapters of the Becker book for AUD. I was looking for anyones recommendations with incorporating Becker and ninja? Thanks!!!

Hi @rahee. I just retook it after a 68 too. I'm sure my tip would hold more weight if I passed but during the practice exams I always made dumb mistakes because I read the question incorrectly. I would answer a compilation question thinking it was an audit question, etc. So take your time and read the questions carefully. I took it Q1 and finished with no time left. This time I had an hour left when I finished everything so I don't think you will feel rushed.

I also learned I am a better test taker at 8 AM then noon. I feel that concept is pretty underrated because when I took the exam at noon I was tired from lunch (a light one, too!) and that's probably my body's internal clock due to my job. Usually when I get into work at 8 AM I'm focused and ready to go after lunch I crash.

    Good luck!

@El yes! I do the same…I tend to read over the questions instead of actually understanding what they are asking me. I also feel like I waste time by rereading options that I know are wrong “just in case”. I had terrible time management during the exam, and barely finished in the last minute. I did not even review anything. Hopefully this round is better!
How did you feel about the exam content wise this quarter compared to last quarter? Was it comparable or did you notice any major differences? I know Q3 content is going to be different for some of the new changes.

@allsheneededwassome, I am going to start on the last sim set of chapter 3 and will be going over 1 & 3 later today. Starting tomorrow, i need to begin chapter 4, its 12 modules long so it would take 5-6 days to go over that and once thats done, i need to squeeze the remaining 3 chapters in 9 days. I at least want to have 1 week to review. Hopefully, nothing too crazy will happen and I can stick with my test date. I would advice that you stick with one whichever it is (NINJA or Becker). I wasted so much time doing the same thing last time switching back and forth. Finish one thing 100% then go to something else.

@rahee. All the best! I would recommend you do lots of progress test in Becker.

@emily, welcome! i think there is a nice podcast where Jeff goes into and explain the different ways to incorporate two softwares together so try to look that up online. if i find the link i will post it. i tried to do it last Qtr but it didnt work out nicely so don't find myself in a position to give an opinion on that.
