@famh: that’s awesome!! All positive signs that point to a pass 😀 . I was weaker in both sims and mcqs – i definitely have noticed gaps in my understanding of stuff when I practice ninja. Not sure if it’s a waste since I’ve noticed people are only using becker on their Audit retakes.

You’ll do fine with REG. Once you get it you get it. Not ambiguous like Audit IMO. I would rather take REG any day than sit and study for AUD. :/

How's everyone doing? I'm exactly 14 days out from my exam. I just started doing my cumulative sets of 33 MCQs on Becker progress tests with some SIMs (if time permits). I'm averaging in the 90s on these progress tests (it was like this the 1st time I took AUD and I performed “stronger” on MCQ according to the performance report) so I'm not too worried about the MCQ testlets on the actual exam. I believe the real nemesis is the SIMs… the SIMs I had on my first AUD exam were a lot like FAR SIMs, so I'm putting a little more emphasis on doing AUD SIMs, and I'm not even a huge proponent for spending too much time on SIMs, but I need to try something differently this time to see if I can improve my score. Anyways, I hope everyone's doing well with their studies.

I have never sat for the Audit exam before, so when people say the SIMS are alot like FAR, what do they mean? Like adjusting entries, or making corrections to the financial statements? I ask because Becker is all theory, there isn't really alot of computations. I'm thinking of going back to my FAR book and looking at the adjusting entries section. Any advise out there on how to prepare for SIMS?

@Cottonkandi – Without violating the AICPA solicitation of the CPA exam content rule, I can't disclose the specifics, but Becker SIMs are not the best representation of the actual SIMs on the CPA exam, but you can do the AICPA practice test on their website to get an idea how SIMs are structured/formatted on the actual test. If you're lucky, you can even get a very similar SIM that's provided on the sample test. Also, it's difficult to prepare well for the AUD SIMs because there are so many different possibilities as to how to answer subjective questions, so I believe the best way to get ready is to do MCQs. If you have a solid understanding of the concepts presented in MCQs, you should be able to apply that to SIMs.

@cotton: I think there are some becker SIMS with JEs that I remember doing. I'll provide the reference here if I can find them. But I agree with Big4bean Becker SIMS are not a very good representation of actual SIMs. Hopefully one of these FAR like sims are pretest. :/

@4matic I was in your exact position and failed audit for fourth times. Then i bought GLEIM TEST BANK and it helped me a lot. I would recommend you go through GLEIM sims at least once, it will prepare you for the worst.

    Hi, I am JJX
I am using Becker and found that the software started to provide the ratio formula for SIM now. So do we still required to remember all the ratio formula ?

@JJX – I would put more emphasis on the understanding of ratio analysis in a given scenario than memorizing all the ratios as you'll be provided the ratio formula as one of the exhibits on a SIM.

    Hi Everyone!

    @Anna
…I studied with Becker only. I am not sure how to reference the Transaction cycles with the NINJA book but I am sure it would be somewhere in there. Sorry wasn't of much help.
@Allsheneed…Let's just hope it was enough. I hated every bit of Auditing because its so damn subjective…the most, the least type of questions drove me nuts.
@Big4Bean..thanks for your feedback. I have decided to do FAR instead of REG because I see some overlap with Auditing so its on to FAR and then will attempt REG.

    Hey guys!
My AUD exam is in 11 days. I am using Becker and have been doing nonstop mcqs on all of the sections. I also just finished going through all of the sims once (for some reason I always skipped these when learning the material…they take soo long). I feel like Becker doesn't have that many sims to work with…and I'm pretty worried about them because so many other people have been saying they are more representative of FAR sims, which I have not taken.
I've been trending about 70% on the SIMS overall, and about 80-85% on the mcq. My weakest points are the cycles and the financial ratios.
Does anyone have any advice on how to best prepare the last 2 weeks? Focus on the sims, do more mcq? Rewrite notes?
Also do you think the mock exam scores are pretty representative of actual exam score, or does the Becker bump no longer exist? ):
    Thanks!

    Hi all,
I have AUD scheduled for Sept 10th (the last date in the testing window) and I just started studying today. I've planned it out to finish studying by week 3 and then doing crash/cram review for one week. I'm using Becker. Any recommendations?
    Thank you!

Taking AUD in 7 days and most worried about knowing all the reports you need to know. What is the best way to grasp the differeces besides doing MCQ? If anyone has made a study guide or has a source on where to find one, please hook a fellow ninja up!
