Hi my name is Lesley and I am entering the study group giveaway! I am currently studying for AUD – my test is scheduled for September 10th. I took BEC on July 2nd and am waiting for my score. I haven't taken any of the other tests yet.

My study goal is to study a few hours per day and tackle all of the chapters, and then review for 2-3 weeks and cement all of the concepts in my brain. I am also planning to take 3 practice exams before the big day and build up my confidence. I'm a firm believer that the confidence you bring with you on exam day can help you pass.. Just gotta have faith in yourself and not get discouraged when they throw tricky questions at you!

Can someone explain to me the primary differences between SSARS and SSAES? What type of questions should I be prepared to answer regarding these topics?

@nikolays What did you do for the last 24 hours? How did you feel about using the blue prints?

SSARS – Lower level engagement compared to an audit. It is related to financial statements. The main services are Financial Statement Preparations. F/S Compilations. Review Engagements.

SSAE – Pretty much non financial engagement. Like when PWC counts the academy award cards? That's a pretty notable example

    Felixsphone:

I’ve never used blueprints and I have no idea of how to use them.

Last 24 hrs I went over SSARS, SSAE and Reports, read chapter summaries (not many, just first 5) and did 2 sets of MCQ 30 questions each.

    Thanks Nikolays.
Took AUD today – I felt so-so. Not great, not hopeless. The SIMS were really triky to get a feel for my performance. I felt like I provided my best answer possible. Out of my hands. Onto REG. Good luck everyone. Manage your time.
    4:00 – MCQ 1
    3:24 – MCQ 2
    2:50 – Mini Break
    2:45 – SIMS 1
    1:50 – BREAK
    1:50 – SIMS 2
    0:58 – Mini Break
    0:54 – SIMS 3

@Nikolays I took AUD earlier this month, and I felt that all of my SIMS were more FAR questions than AUD questions too. It was really bizarre. This is my second time taking AUD, as I passed on my first try about 2 years ago but it obviously expired. Felt very prepared for it again, but was really thrown by the SIMs.

    Hey everyone,

Just a quick question about in regards to SSARS vs SSAE confusion…while you guys are in discussion…

SSARS = preparation, compilation, review of unaudited FS of nonissuer
-It's as if you are doing these engagements in place of an audit?
-Does this preclude SSARS application from audited FS?
-Does SSAE apply to issuers & nonissuers?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

    Hi everyone,

Roger recently updated the lecture on PCAOB (public) report. The new PCAOB report on the textbook looks totally different from the old one. There are new paragraphs, the order of the paragraphs changed, new requirements, etc. Roger says this change is effective starting Q4.

My AUD exam is in September so I wanted to confirm with those who have already taken AUD in Q3 that I need to study for the old PCAOB report and not even bothered to remember the new one.

Any comments or thoughts will be appreciated!

@Esyc – Becker states the new audit report for issuers is testable as of Q3, not Q4.
