thechapmanMemberI'm not sure how many of you have taken the exam yet, but does anyone know how common it is to leave the audit exam early? I left mine after 3 hours and 10 minutes, and was a tad bit nervous about that. I finished the multiple choice in about an hour and a half, and then finished the simulations in around an hour and 40 minutes. It seemed like if I stayed to double check everything more than once that I would just second guess myself and start to change answers when I didn't need to do so. Any thoughts?

JamesBJamesParticipantThe day before I took my AUD exam, I read through the entirety of the AUD exam experience thread for, uh, comfort. It seems pretty common for people to finish early. A lot of people finished with 30-60 minutes left. There were also a few people who only spent about 2-2.5 hours for the whole exam and ether did incredible or failed.

HunnsterrMemberI believe it's perfectly normal to leave an AUD exam early. I mean if you get your simulations bang on, then 4 hours is a bit too much. And i read this somewhere, that second guessing doesn't help. Always trust your gut and first instincts.
But personally, I can never get myself to leave the exam before the stipulated time is up. Even if that means going over the simulations a third time. I'm way too stressed out to leave early. This time around I'll make sure I go over my MCQ's before going on to the next test let.
@chapman: How did the exam go? Were you fairly with the qs; no out of the world questions?

NYCaccountantParticipantI was able to finish with 40 minutes left and this is after searching through the AL for my research questions very thoroughly. I had 2 and a half hours left for the SIMS and must have gotten through the first test let in about 12-15 minutes and the second one about 20 minutes probably, the third took the longest though, as I flagged probably 5-6 questions in a row and took educated guesses. My SIMS, except for my research ones, were not the type you could look up in AL, but were more conceptual. I spent those 2 and a half hours searching for research, triple checking answers and then I just hit quit cause I was mentally drained. Because there is no math in Audit, MCQ is faster because it's either you know it, or you don't.

willpassby2014MemberThe 2013 AICPA Released questions are so easy. Are they releasing the easy questions in a nutshell? Most of the questions released have already been addressed in MCQ'S of Wiley /Ninja….Did any one experience the same?

AnonymousInactiveIs anyone interested in starting “pop questions”? We did this for FAR [any Q2 FAR thread people on here?)] and then also for BEC in June. It's really simple…one person posts a question, someone answers, original poster responds with right or wrong. Anyone can ask or answer and it seems to help retain mnemonics and also learn things that are other study materials.
I will start a post if anyone is interested 🙂

You should consider the POP questions in the study group first.
I am keeping the BEC questions going (but in the study group thread) since you started them: 1 or 2 per day, but others chime in with their own questions.

I took a total of an hour and ten minutes for multiple choice.
Then I took a break, went back spent an hour and ten minutes on the SIMS, checked them again, and was done.
Don't feel bad about leaving early. I'm not going to win any awards, but I'll take my 78 and be a happy little camper.
I highly recommend re-writing Jeff's notes, doing his multiple choice, and most importantly, studying the SIMS that you hate.
Peace everyone, I'm off to FAR.

Shining StarMemberHi everyone,
I'm struggling with Auditing. I failed it 3 times with scores of 60, 72, and 69. I am using Becker CPA Review material. Before the exam, I feel that I'm well prepared. I get extremely nervous on the exam day. I don't know what am I doing wrong. Can anyone please advice me how to study and what am I doing wrong.
Thank you!

shikari1985MemberFor those of you who are preparing for the Auditing part, I would like to shed some lights on how to prepare for it. Every individual has a different way of learning but what worked for me was to write a thorough notes. When we read the book we just don't notice some of the important points to memorize and we feel easy about the context as it all made sense while reading. However, writing the important points in the note will help you remember it longer. I did not try MCQ's until I was sure that I knew enough of all topics that way I knew why other answers were wrong (usually 2 choices) and helped me choose one among two best choices (from 25% chance to get it right, now I had 50% chance of getting it correct). I was poor at sampling and I considered that being the weak part of me, but I did fairly good at other sections. For the sampling, I thoroughly read the auditing book two days before my exam and attempted some questions a day before the exam ( I had a day gap to try MCQ's because I wanted to restore what I read). That was it. I passed in my first attempt. Feel confident about what you know, and you should get through…!! Bottom line, the key to passing the AUD for me was by reading every single line of the book and writing notes. GOOD LUCK.
FINALLY ITS ALL DONE.......!! GLAD TO BE A CPA...!!
