In regards to the Audit flow…I know that you starting with planning/obtaining an understanding of the entity/ internal control. Then you assess the audit risk of the entity. Based upon your findings in the planning stage, this is where you determine the entity's audit risk (AR= CR X IR X DR). After assessment you test your assessment by testing internal controls. Based upon the test results you adjust that audit risk formula accordingly..ie. if you find that internal control risk is higher than originally assessed you would lower detection risk, etc. Does this sound about right from the big picture?

If it's important to you, you will find a way. If it isn't, you will find an excuse.

I am using CPAexcel, my advise please have WTB and Ninja as supplement. I am lucky because I have Becker too, but it's too much unnecessary staff in Becker that waste time.

How has the Ninja MCQ stacked up against the real exam? Easier or Harder?

    FAR - 73, 75 PASSED
    AUD - 74, 96
    BEC - 79
    REG - 89! Done. I'm a CPA!!

I did not think my exam MCQ were easy. They asked a lot of trick questions and the third testlet, I had to flag probably 5-6 questions in a row. I only had 1 SIM other than my two research where the AL would have been helpful, but I ended up guessing on almost everything. I wish I had those kind of SIMS where you could look the answers up but no DICE! Ninja is comparable to the exam to answer your question.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

@NYC I think I had a similar exam exp. I felt so comfortable with the test for the first two testlets. Then that third testlet hit me with a ton a bricks.

And then the sims… I even looked in the AL and couldn't find anything that could help. Then again there was one thing I maybe could have because I found something in the AL that was helpful on another question, but then couldn't find it again.

And one of the research question was in 2 ALs and I barely deduced why 1 of them was incorrect. Definitely my most frustrating exam experience.

If I have to take it again, I'll probably buy the Ninja mcq, as I feel I knew the WTB by heart.

@NYCaccountant sound like mine. The first testlet I thought this was easy, then the second was the same way however the third I lost my mind. My SIMs were JE something that I do at work most of the time. So, it was 50% 50%

@nyc, iddy, riceperson ….exactly same experience …my all three testlets were a bit rough…many lengthy questions i felt and i flagged 5-6 in each of them… one of the sim question which cud be easily done with the help of AL,…but i cud not find it and had to guess it …one of the sims was totally similar to what i had got last time and im not sure if i did good or not as i cud not find answers to those questions and situation in practice…or anywhere else…

    FAR 72,71,81 🙂
    AUD 64,71, 72, 75 🙂 I'm done !!!

For anyone who is using Becker and has gone through all the material… Do any of the later chapters overlap with BEC and does it get easier at all? I heard it overlaps a little, but it was hard to tell by just skimming the book. I'm just nervous because I'm not getting through the material as quick as BEC,

    Passed all sections.

    According to SEC independence regulations,

Answer: “Preapproval of accountants’ services may be in accord with detailed policies and procedures rather than explicit.”

What does this mean, i don't understand its wording

explicit means clear understanding with no room for confusion, however detailed policies and procedures i feel is the same. I don't get the “Rather than”.

@cpain2014: I am taking AUD on Saturday, second try. I suggest setting the MCQ to your “Trouble Questions” and focus on that for a while, until you know why you got the question incorrect. I purchased Ninja MCQ the day I received my first score and have done 60 hrs and over 4000 questions total since then. I feel good about the material, at least much better than I did in Round 1. Good Luck!

    AUD: 67, 81 (NINJA MCQ's ONLY for 2nd Attempt)
    FAR: NOT GOOD, LARRY!
    REG: ??
    BEC: 4/4/2015

@nicole, pre-approval by the Audit Committee is not required if the revenues account for <5% of the total revenue from the Issuer client. At that point, they must be approved before the report is issued.
