    Crunchtime,

    I'm in the same boat my friend. I only recognized a handful of questions/concepts in the exam. I also used Becker. I did all of the MCQs, did 2 progress tests and both practice exams. I have terrible feelings about this exam, however, I also felt the same way about FAR, but passed. I'm just praying that I pass. Good luck!

    Cheers,

    @CPAIN, yes it felt i was guessing the whole way, @BEACPA i felt more confident when i took FAR and i got a 69, i just don't feel good about this. I know i have to just wait for the scores but if i pulled anything less then a 70 i have to really take a look at possibly anxiety problems in the test center. I don't get worked up but maybe it is stopping me from accessing my memory in some way.

    Does anyone else find some of these lectures unbearable? I'm watching them while taking thorough notes, and half of the time I swear I can't even remember what the topic is with how Becker presents things. Is this common at all?

    @nicole2035:

    Independence needs to be maintained both in “fact” and “appearance”. I believe the above example pertains to independence impaired in appearance.

    I have another explanation but I'm not sure if it's correct. I think that we should not pay any importance to the client's materiality in the 3rd company. Independence should be looked at from the CPA's perspective. The only scenario where auditor would be independent is when the CPA has an IMMATERIAL + INDIRECT interest in the client. In the example mentioned above, the CPA has MATERIAL + INDIRECT interest.

    I took AUD today and I definitely recommend brushing up on journal entries and ‘normal balances' for major types of accounts, especially if you have not studied FAR yet. And don't forget to use the Authoritative Literature as a resource for all SIMS, not just the Research Sims.

    I think I did better on this test than I did FAR. It helped me to repeat the MCQs I missed and build a bullet list of concepts to try and understand better or at least memorize.

    Search for “101-8” in the above link. That 101-8 para has the exact same example explained in detail.

    I guess I was on the right path but it does make a difference whether the client owns a material/immaterial share in the 3rd party.

    Are any of you using AUD flashcards? I'm not good at memorizing, so I'm horrible at trying to figure out the correct answers while using flashcards. Give me 4 options and I'll pick out the right answer but i can't tell you the right answer instantly after reading the question.

    I guess I'm good at recalling stuff when I have a look at the four options in front of me. Is this the wrong approach for AUD? It worked for REG, FAR & BEC since a lot of it had to do with practical stuff.

    Do you all have most of AUD memorized by heart with little mnemonics, or like me do you try grasping the basics and the structure of audit and use these logics to get right answers? I'm just worried about AUD since I've been stuck on it since forever. It's the last hurdle and I really need to get done with it this testing window

    Crunchtime I have the same feelings as you. I sat for AUD today, first time sitting for any section and went in thinking I was very well prepared. I got an 84 on the Ninja Practice Exam yesterday and an 80 on onelast week and I have been scoring very high on all the MCQ's with a 94 trending score. During the first testlet I felt pretty good. During the next two testlets all I could think was WTF was that?!!! I took a 15 minute break between the third testlet and the sims just to recompose myself. I am very mixed about the sims.Three I know I scored perfectly on as I was able to find the answers word for word in the AL. One of them came out of left field on a topic I had not covered in my studies. The other 3 I either did well or bombed. Crossing my fingers and hoping we all pass.

    Anyone using Gliem's testbank? I use it as a supplement to Becker. Ive done it for the other 3 tests and seemed to help me. I would say they are more difficult than most test banks because they can be very detailed with their questions. They are EXTRA difficult for Audit. There is so much minutiae involved in Audit that Gleim really hones in alot of the details which i think is good and bad. Killing my confidence right now but hopefully its good practice.

    @NYCaccountant that happened to me once when I decide to take Gleim MCQ and I got 65%, I went to a panic mode. Here is my advise just read your own notes now and review weak areas. Stop doing MCQ.

    AUD 89 (07/06/14)
    REG 83 (08/27/2015)
    FAR 78 (04/27/2015)
    BEC 75 (11/13/2015)

    @NYCaccounant:

    I see that you've done both the WTB and NINJA MCQs. I've been studying from only the WTB. WOuld you advise buying the NINJA MCQ's as well? Are they tougher or different from the WTB?

    And good luck for your exam. I'm sure you'll nail it with a good score

    BEC - 88
    REG - 72, 78
    FAR - 75
