    I just have:

    1) Risk of assessing control risk too low

    2) Tolerable deviation rate

    3) Expected deviation rate

Population size does not impact sample size.

I think you guys are correct, the obvious factors are Risk of assessing control risk too low, Tolerable deviation rate and expected deviation rate. I saw somewhere the population characteristic, but those three are the main when it come to sampling selection for test of control.

I thought population does affect sample size. It's just affects it in a small amount. I look through my Wiley book when I get home, but I'm pretty Wiley has it population size under what affects sample size.

I think population could affect the sample size if it is a really small population. But for the most part when it comes to answering questions, I've always seen that it has “no impact.” Becker's book says it is not an issue provided the population is large (ex: greater than 5000 items).

But still, does that mean that the question is faulty? Or are we missing something?

Does Becker say something to the affect “anything over 5,000 is considered infinite, so population size would not matter”?

@NYC yep…it works out to about 6 weeks? I've taken FAR 3 times and this will be the only time where I will have time to tackle FAR…second baby due in October and wife is freaking out, so I am hoping that the constricted time frame will allow me to focus more.

Population size doesn't have the impact to the sample size selection. However, i came across population characteristics does have impact to the sample size. Now I don't know how can a characteristic of population affecting sample size.

What have you guys used to study Audit that has worked well?

I used Wiley test bank on BEC and FAR and it raised my score significantly or i passed the 1st time however Audit…there were parts stressed on the CPA exam that didn't have any review questions in the question bank so i'm thinking of using a different aide this time.

I have 4 weeks to add 7 points.

    BEC: 88
    FAR: 69, 80
    AUD: 68, 76
    REG: 71, 78

I have never seen population have an effect on sample size in real life…and in Becker it states minimal impact.

@mjp44–I have been using CPAreviewforfree and noticed the same thing. I also checked their forum and noticed that most of the activity is years old. That does worry me, in that I purchesed the notes earlier in the week, but I think the most of the info is good. I like the free questions because it is a change in the CPAexcel questions I have already memorized the answers to. I used CPAexcel and CPAreviewforfree, and Ninja notes for AUD and scored a 67, not cool. I think I am going to get the Ninja MCQ this week to supplement. What other resources are you using?

    AUD: 67, 81 (NINJA MCQ's ONLY for 2nd Attempt)
    FAR: NOT GOOD, LARRY!
    REG: ??
    BEC: 4/4/2015

Hey guys, I found myself always have a difficulty to under reporting on Comparative financial statements. when Becker explains it, they break it down to if the prior year's f/s were reissued or not reissued. I had the impression if reissued, that's old CPA's responsibility while if not, it would be Current CPA's responsibility. My question is, what's the point of reissue prior year's report? Since i feel like even there's no opinion change, the predecessor CPA can still reissue the prior year's report due to client's request.

Also, if the prior year report is not reissued, i assume everything's on the current CPA?

    Thanks 🙂

@cooper…You are correct that if the prior periods f/s are reissued the responsibility is of the OLD cpa and if they are not reissued the NEW cpa has some responsibility. I believe the prior period F/S would be reissued if the client/successor auditor finds any material matters/misstatements (while auditing the current period f/s)that need modification. Per becker, its the old cpa's responsibility to obtain a letter of representation from the successor auditor or the client

    FAR- PASSED (11/13)
    REG- PASSED (2/14)
    BEC- PASSED (5/14)
    AUD- PASSED (8/14)

If it's important to you, you will find a way. If it isn't, you will find an excuse.
