Thanks Gabe!! Yea, I was looking in the book for that and could not find it. Some friends sent me notes on it though, which I'll read tonight most likely. You're an Auditor? You should be fine for this exam! Are you doing better on Ninja this time compared to the last time you sat?

@Priscilla Actually the treasurer is the custodian function I believe, at least for mailing payments. The credit- sales department will be the authorization, accounting department record keeping, and treasurer is the custodian. Writing off receivables has to be authorized by someone outside of the billing and sales function.

@NYC let me know if a specific time frame is mentioned. Like I said, I haven't seen it in any book, just in real life.

I has a SIM on Ninja and it said it should be within 2 weeks of the report date. So you were right on the money! I just could not find it anywhere in my review materials.

    Hey folks,

I scored a 67 on AUD in May, next attempt on July 26th. I used CPAexcel, CPAreviewforfree and Ninja Notes the first round. Used CPAexcel exclusively until four weeks prior to exam. I am going back through all of the material again, but I am worried about the MCQ and practice, as I already have memorized the answers for CPAexcel and CPAreviewforfree. I am thinking about getting the NINJA MCQ, any thoughts. Also, I really bombed the SIms. I am not sure how to “study” for them, as it seems they test overall accounting knowledge, not just AUD. Any thoughts/suggestions woul help, I can barely stomach the material this time through, MUST PASS in JULY!!

    AUD: 67, 81 (NINJA MCQ's ONLY for 2nd Attempt)
    FAR: NOT GOOD, LARRY!
    REG: ??
    BEC: 4/4/2015

Awesome! Score 1 for real world experience haha. There's also a WTB SIM kind of like that too…where the report date is given and 5 letters of inquiry are received at various times.

Yes @Gabe. I just did that one again in Wiley today. First time I got a fat 50 on it. Second time I got 100 and I did not memorize the answers, which is a good thing. I understood that 2 week rule though.

@gflurry …definitely get the Ninja MCQ's. It's been really helpful to do practice questions and I found the Sim's to be really helpful as well.

The first time you go through them, I'd do them in order. Then after you finish all of them, take a 90 question progress test over everything and then do the ones you're weaker on.

However, do you really want advice from somebody with my scores?

    Good Luck

TRANSACTION CYCLES….So much damn information. I am using Becker and I watched the online lecture, and attended the live class, and I still do terribly in this section. About to watch this section online again.

What are the main take away points with transaction cycles, and how do YOU remember everything? Any advice on this section? Thanks, ladies and gents

How do you guys study for audit procedures by transaction cycles? I literally got 4/18 doing Becker MCQs and stopped because obviously I did not absorb anything from watching the lecture and reading the section. I'm so confused. Everything looks the same.

@cindywindy the medicine for transaction cycle is to read and understand the concept, if you can draw the transactions control by using flow chart especial purchase to pay and revenue to cash. Becker notes have many staff in it, but get the concept and do as many MCQ as possible. In the end you will find transaction cycle is one of the okay section.

Which of the following is not a basic rule for achieving strong internal control over cash?

A)Separate the cash handling and recordkeeping functions.

B)Decentralize the receiving of cash as much as possible.

C)Deposit each day’s cash receipts by the end of the end.

D)Have bank reconciliations performed by employees independent with respect to handling cash.

The correct answer is B and I agree with that, however C supposed to read deposit each day cash receipts by the end of the day and “NOT end of the end.

I'm I missing something here? WTB I heard it does have typo errors and I guess this is one.
