Also key is to evaluate your AL findings within a greater – and proper – context.

I spend no less then 20 minutes agonizing over a research question, though I had the time to give (and judging by the score, I'm willing to bet I nailed it!).

Since audit contains a lot of “fuzzy math” and grey areas, it's likely you'll find a concept in more than one corner of the AL.

    AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
    BEC - 74 , 77
    REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)
    FAR - 69 , 75

    Dr: perseverance
    Dr: intelligence
    Dr: luck
    . Cr: . advisory score

@Iddyrash What are you currently averaging on Ninja MCQ? I was scoring about low to mid 80's consistently. I've been scoring high to low 90's with Wiley though. First run through I managed a 85% for sampling, but they ask simple questions on Wiley. I got lowest through IT though. That was probably the one chapter where I had a lot of WTF moments.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to study for the simulations? I am using Becker materials. Once I finish a sims I review it, but there is only so much you can do for the types of information presented. Any suggestions would be useful.

Who Should Authorize account write offs?

Guys, I need help on this question, what concept is this question trying to test on? (this is from Becker Chapter 2)

Financial information is presented in a printed form that prescribes the wording of the independent auditor's report. The form is not acceptable to the auditor because the form calls for statements that are inconsistent with the auditor's responsibility. Under these circumstances, the auditor most likely would:

    a.

Restrict use of the report to the party who designed the form.

    b.

    Withdraw from the engagement.

    c.

Express a qualified opinion with an explanation.

    d.

Reword the form or attach a separate report.

The answer is D. (Why not withdraw?)

@Fayas:Treasurers, they are responsible for cash receipts and authorization of write offs—> But they do not actually write off the receivables.

@coocooper : I read in the book that Treasurer should authorize the write offs – ( I Was thinking how can treasurer authorize a write off – he can be in a position to write off and take the cash )

@coccooper : About you query , There is no reason for the auditor to withdraw as there is no scope limitation , he can reword the form.

@iddyrashy I have gone below 80% with Ninja a couple times. I think lowest is 73%. I have gone higher than 85% a couple times, highest being 100% obviously. I would say 80-90% of my sessions, I end up mid 80's with Ninja. My current trending score is 84%.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!

Hey everyone! Currently averaging around 83% on ninja MCQ's.

@NYC did you ever get your question about letter of inquiry figured out? If the letter was returned in January and the report is issued in March, you need an updated letter closer to the report date…I can't remember the exact time frame (I want to say within 2-4 weeks of report date). I don't remember reading it in any book, but I did have to send updated letters of inquiry for a couple of clients in the past.

@coocooper. Think about it. If the client gave you a report that was incorrectly worded or in the wrong format, let's say. Would you withdraw from the engagement? Nope, it's easier to re-format the report (which is letter D). Does that make sense?

    @coocooper

Treasurer does not handle cash – he/she is in charge of “authorization function”

    AUD - Done
    REG - Done
    BEC - Done
    FAR - August 2015
