Independence questions can be really tricky sometimes. I ended up looking at the AICPA authoritative source for a few clarifications. I realize it is probably more detail than we need to know, but this pretty much covers it all:

hey all

anyone knows what is really the correct answer here? I'm confused between A or B:

When establishing an understanding with an audit client, that understanding should be documented?

A. Through use of an engagement letter.

B. Through a written communication with the client.

C. Either orally or in writing with the client.

D. In a manner completely based on the auditor’s seasoned professional judgment.

I know that establishing understanding with the audit client should be in writing ordinarily thru EL, but the suggested answer is B. why not A?

It's B. You normally use engagement letters, but you are required to use a written communication, does not have to be an engagement letter.

Anybody try the SIMS for Ninja yet? My confidence was crushed last night.

I did Sims all day yesterday. They are difficult, but a great learning experience. A couple of them helped me zero in on a few concepts.

They are hard and thats a good thing lol. Some easy, some hard. But I agree with @arushi89, they are helping me zero in on a few concepts. Plus they have some good sampling SIMS. I do not use Authoritative literature at all for SIMS when I'm studying cause I want to learn the material. But the sims will be a little easier on exam when I use the AL.

@iddyrashy I think the Ninja SIMS on Sampling might be better.

I just did five of the SIMS this morning and here is how I did:

Audit scares me to death. I am SO ready for all of this to be over. I want my life back. Wondering if it is even worth all of this

@NYCaccountant am reviewing Variable Sampling and I will be ready to Go. Sampling and IT is my weakest am score around 71%-74% on WTB. My plan is to beat it this weekend.
