AUD is stupid and I hate it

I feel like people either think AUD is super easy and pass with a 90 or they hate it. I didn’t mind the material of REG or BEC, but the AUD material makes me want to stab my eyes out.

For reference: I’m sitting for AUD for the first time in a little under 2 weeks and I’m only about 1/2 way through the Becker material. In Becker terms – I’m done with Ch 1, about 1/2 on Ch 2 before I said screw it and moved on. Done with 3, and just starting to get into the audit procedures by transaction cycle of Ch 4. (Sorry for those who use other study materials and don’t understand my Becker references.)

All the information is so wordy, and I’m having trouble conceptualizing the topics. I keep sitting down to study and just end up lost in the material and unable to focus. Part of me wants to just walk away from it, skip my test appointment since my NTS would have expired anyways, and start studying for FAR in the month and 1/2 of time I have left before I start working full time in January, in hopes that the FAR material would be easier for me to get through and would give me a better basis for AUD. (Obviously I know that FAR wouldn’t be easier, but just more conceptual.) The other part feels like I’ve already invested so much effort, and that if I could just get out of this AUD rut I could buckle down and study. Thoughts? Advice?
