AnonymousInactiveAshley,
I just read your post, and I can totally sympathize. I am using Yaeger too, and studying for audit for the second time (got a 72 my first take), so anything I say, please feel free to take with a grain of salt. I have been watching the videos, then writing the ninja notes for that section. After that I do the suggested homework from the handout, and I think it helps cover some of the material that isn't covered as in depth as we might like. When I am done with all of that, usually the next day I will do a test bank using the Wiley software, so I get some questions that are different than the ones in the book, and video. I have also read that people on the forum stop their tape before Gary says the answer to a multiple choice question, so they can try it themselves first. I hope some of this helps, even if its knowing you aren't alone with the audit frustration!

I Too Shall PassParticipantHey guys! So I have AUD in 3 weeks. Not looking forward to it. Not sure how many others are taking this while at audit firms, but it is so hard to focus during busy season! I just feel the need to whine a little, so, sorry 🙁
So, I noticed someone mentioned before…Tim Gearty from Becker cannot stop saying “again”! If it wouldn't be totally counterproductive or really boring if I was trying to have fun – I would make a drinking game.
What do you you all think? Just picture a room full of current and former Becker students (only, of course) watching Becker for fun. Let's see, again, let's drink when Timmy says, “again.” Drink when one of them makes fun of the other. Drink when they waste your time for about 5 minutes on some meaningless personal anecdote. P.S.Hey guys, it's certainly nice to add a little flavor to all that blah, but can you do it in less than 30 seconds, and always make it at least somewhat relevant? Back to the list: drink whenever Peter tells himself to shut up or calls himself “Stupid”. Any other suggestions?
Happy studying and testing everybody!
Using Wiley and Becker.

sammy139MemberI am getting ready to take auditing again on May 25th. Last time i took it i got a 64. I had a passing grade on the multiple choice, but did poorly on the simulations. I have been using MDS study materials and have been doing pretty good on his homework. My plan is to know hte multiple choice inside and out so i dont have to rely on the simulations. I think it is hard to prepared for the simulations becuase you never know what you are going to get. I will still look over some, but i will spend a majority of my time hammering multiple choice practice questions. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

AnonymousInactiveHey everyone! My AUD test is coming up on May 14 (9 more days). I just have to say that I will be so glad that it is over. While I am studying I am just pretending that failing is not an option because I just can't handle going through this anymore.
Peyton – I believe for AUD the SIMS account for 40% with the MC at 60%.
I too Shall Pass – That is hilarious! I am using Becker as well. I refused to even listen to the lectures again studying for this retake because I just couldn't handle Tim and Peter anymore!
Sammy – I feel ya. I bombed the simulations as well last time so I don't have any good advice for you. I am trying to do what you said and really try to nail the MC and review the practice SIMS a little less just because they are so unpredictable. My test SIMS were so different that my practice ones last time that I felt like studying them had been a waste of time.

AnonymousInactiveUse the research tabs! Sometimes, you'll find the actual answers for SIMS in the lit. Worth a try!!

Lisa_JaneParticipantHi everyone- I ‘m going to start studying Audit on Monday and I plan to sit for the exam in August. I just passed FAR which had 14 modules, and I see that Audit only has 8, but the exam is still 4 hours long. Yikes!
Can anyone here give me some tips on the best way to study and what to watch out for. Much appreciated!

Mikey89MemberI'm fed up with these unbearably BORING lecture videos. Its so boring that I just can't take in any more information from them. I know this isn't really a great idea, but I need to know. Is there any way I can pass by just doing the MC and rewriting the Ninja notes. I have exactly 2 weeks and I want to know if I can do this.

AnonymousInactiveForget the lectures since you don't have much time and you aren't finding them useful. I would recommend reading the book by section and doing those MCQs. I believe Becker has 5-6 chapters (depending on the version). Do a chapter a day: Read & work those MCQs. Should take you about 6-7 days. Do it again for final review stage. I would also suggest you to use Wiley testbank for final review phase!
Plus, it wouldn't hurt to watch videos for certain topics that you aren't able to understand just by reading…sometimes, a lecture video may help.
I have never tried to study for an exam in such a short amount, however, I know some people (on this forum) have and have managed to pass! I can't stress enough how important it is to read the book though!
Good Luck & get it done!!

AnonymousInactiveHey guys,
Taking my audit test at the end of May. I just bought Wiley test bank to supplement Becker and saw a question on Trust Service Principles. I did not see this topic in Becker unless this is the same as WebTrust Engagements (A-2 p.88) Can anyone guide me on this. Btw I am using Becker 2011 to study.
Thanks so much!

I'm just going to run through as many MCQs as I can… wiley test bank has 1000 Qs.
What are the chances of me passing? I don't really got time to read through the book.. plus the 29th is a holiday so I can study all thru the weekend.

I'm using CPAexcel so I will quote what they have in the AUD book.
“Web Trust- To earn the WebTrust seal (which provides assurance to participants about transaction integrity and information security in e-commerce transactions with an entity's web site),………….”
CPAexcel AUD pg 284
It's under AICPA Assurance Services in the book.
