@ahr I have only take FAR and REG. Sitting for AUD tomorrow, but I don't remember any green flags. I think the questions only change color if you flag them (from white to red).

    FAR 86
    REG 76
    AUD 76
    BEC 5/23

LKerch84, I felt the same way. I scored a 73 the first time and felt the MC weren't bad (and scored well on them) but Sims were tough. This time I felt the MC were incredibly difficult but I thought the Sims weren't as bad. Maybe we got the same test. I would say study for BEC now. I am planning on taking BEC at end of May. Also, get some audio somewhere since you commute. That will help.

There's really no point to my post; I just need to vent.

I am taking AUD tomorrow and I don't feel confident at all.

This is actually the worst I have felt going in to a test…

(And reading the posts above about people's experiences this week do not help!)

    AUD: 72, 80 and DONE!! 🙂
    BEC: 86
    FAR: 81
    REG: 82

@ Entourage – It went better than I thought it would, and I actually feel kind of okay about it. However, I felt this same way after taking it the first time and I got a 72. With my other three test I always felt horrible leaving and scored in the 80's…so feeling okay may not be a good sign, lol.

Oh well, I guess I'll find out next month. It's just nice not to be studying for a change since I don't have any other tests to study for! (yay!) Those long days of work and late nights of studying were really getting to me.

Also, overall test-wise I have to agree with the others in that I think MC was worse than SIMS this time around…

    AUD: 72, 80 and DONE!! 🙂

    FAR: 81
    REG: 82

Took mine on April 2nd, and I must say, the MQs were way more difficult as compared to the SIMs; the way they were asking you the questions was very subjective, for someone who does not know singnificantly the topic, these questions would not be easy to answer. I have to be honest, I felt really conf. with what I learned and the material, except for just a little bit in the A4 (becker). However, at the time of the exam, I felt as I was being super challenged with these questions. Is the way you interpret these questions, you have to think and analyze them before answering.

I heard some people in the past saying “just do all the MQs and repeat them, until you memorize them” … oh no no no. That doesn't work anymore my friends, …. you HAVE TO UNDERSTAND the topic.

My first testlet was very difficult, the second was diff/medium and the third diff/medium. Not sure, all of them were hard, but the first one was the worst. Not sure if that is a bad sign.

As for the SIMs, I got 3 research sims, would that be a good sign? or all the opposite?

Not sure what to think now… as I was leaving the prometric center, I was thinking on how unfair life is by letting people like KKardashian getting $ for nothing and me working on this exam with all the sacrifice, not even $5 voucher from the AICPA for not passing hahaha. Really bad joke for the day.

well. I am taking AUD next friday (april 20th)… hopefully my last section ever!!! mainly because if I fail again I lose FAR…

but, I have been studying AUD solid since November.. I took it in January and made a 70. when I started over on the material I started from scratch.. I have been using Becker only with some Ninja Notes for my otehr sections and AUD… well, I bought the Wiley test bank to get a look at different questions and it was a good decision. because I failed both of my previous two attempts at AUD because of Sims…

anyways, Last night I did one of the Becker Final Exams and scored the following

    testlet 1: 78

    testlet 2: 83

    testlet 3: 80

Sims were an average between 75 and 85? give or take.. I cant remember…

how does that stack up in your opinion???

I am stoked about it because the last time I took this particular final exam I scored a 64, 57, 70 and lower on Sims…

that is a big jump in the scores and not because I memorized the questions since I havent looked at this particular test since January…

so, should I just rock on with MCQs from now until test day? I plan on reading through my becker book next week to put some info in my brain before I test…

    what do yall think???

long winded post I know… sorry

SmBundy13 Hey I am in the same boat as you. Taking Audit April 19th. Getting the same scores as you (plus or minus). My question is that I'm afraid of becoming to reliant on Becker… Honestly Becker does a killer job of MQ prep, but I feel TBS could be anything. Is there any other place/way to study Sims?

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

    Audit 4/19/12 - 77
    BEC 5/31/12 - 75
    FAR 8/30/12

    @Kassius,

I am using Becker also and I would supplemented with Wiley because I wanted to see different questions and more sims…

I have taken Audit twice recently (january and august) and failed both times (in my opinion) because of sims…

I have studied pretty hardcore this time around and am hoping that I can pass it this time..

    good luck to you!!!

Wiley was 100% worth it though.

    FAR - 75 (Expires April 30, 2012)
    BEC - 74,74,69,83
    AUD - 72,65,70, 4/20 Last Score???
    REG - 69,84

Hey guys, I didn't get a response in the main forum so I'm hoping I get one here. I've got a quick question about control risk. In Becker, when assessing RMM, it gives the mnemonic IM A CPA:

Internal control, entity, and environment – obtain an understanding

Material misstatement – assess the risk

    Assessed level of risk response

    Control Testing

    Perform substantive testing

    Audit Evidence

If RMM is made up of Inherent Risk and Control Risk, how can that come before control testing? The timing is what is confusing me. So do you assess RMM first and then only test the controls that you plan to rely on? If that's the case, you're first assuming that they work OK in your assessment of RMM? Sorry if I'm confusing everyone, please let me know if you need some more clarification.

“the auditor uses the understanding of the entity and its environment, including IC, to assess the RMM at the financial statement level and relevant assertion level.” RMM is made up of IR and CR but when you are assessing RMM you are not testing IC, just assessing it to further plan your audit tests. You rely on IC if controls are strong, if they are weak you do not.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think you're confused as to the timing of IMACPA? A3-37 at the bottom, 1-6. thats what you should read and see if that makes sense. the mnemonic might not work for you..

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

    Audit 4/19/12 - 77
    BEC 5/31/12 - 75
    FAR 8/30/12

@ Jack I do believe so. I waited til last day of 1st window (day20) to take Auditing (this friday April, 20th). I can't stand another long wait. I'm nervous gang, but I did study my brains out. I'm finally through all the questions in CPA excel again just finishing today. I plan on reviewing the last 3 days. I think the hardest thing about auditing is all the small details, and there are hundreds of them. I made an excel spreadsheet with the most important things so I could sort by topic. I have an astounding 438 rows of notes (and that is just what I felt I needed to review). I failed AUD in January with a 73 and had to wait a month to find out. Luckily passed bec in Feb on the 1st try. I thought I bombed the SIMS after taking them, and my score report said I did better than others WTH I thought. Then I felt I did pretty well on Multiple choice and was informed I did worse than others. I feel a bit more confident this time but how can you really feel that confident about all of this information? All we need is a 75 people! GOOD LUCK! I'll be back on May 4th hopefully in party mode!
