HustlinHustlinMemberCosmo, you are already ahead of me. I'm only on A1 still….puh….
Thinking about ditching the lectures and reading just to hammer out as many MCQs and Sims as possible.

AnonymousInactiveI would agree with the above posts–the lectures for AUD didn't really do that much for me considering they have you highlight practically everything in the Becker books. I've made my way through all the book material and I can say that I've gotten more comfortable with the material by simply repeating the 100 question progress tests and reading the answers when reviewing each test. When I realize the chapters I'm weaker in, I go back to the book and review only that material. Again and again and again. Hopefully we all stay above the avg. candidate over the next few weeks of this window and can all move on from AUD.

AnonymousInactiveI'm doing Roger, too! The mnemonics are really difficult…especially the long ones (they're all long).
I have been to all of the lectures, and have done all of the homework in the Wiley book once through.
This morning I made a list of all of the topics that I need to review based on my homework performance, and the list is pretty long!
I'm sitting on Feb 23.

AnonymousInactiveThat's great! Let me know if you have any questions about the city.
Roger is great. He made me laugh out loud many times, and I understand audit way better after those three days than I did after a semester of it in accounting school. The live course is somewhat overwhelming…eight hours of information is a lot to ingest. By the end of the day, it was pretty hard for me to focus. I'm thinking of doing the next part online so I can do one subject at a time.

AnonymousInactive@undeniabletwins2, thanks, I think I'm going to do just that. I'm going to try and watch as much of the lectures I can this weekend and leave 2 weeks for notes & mcq. I'm not expecting to pass but I'm going to put up a fight.
@Hustlin-we're in the same boat. How are you progessing?
@charliecharlie-do you actually have Roger there in person? I signed up for his live classes in West LA until I found out it was just him on tv and switched to online. I really like him. One needs humor for this stuff.

AnonymousInactiveNot for audit! It was a live video stream. He was teaching that course in San Jose. I know he does teach some courses in SF, though. He was teaching REG in SF on Sundays while audit was in SJ on Saturdays. My one gripe was that I kept finding myself texting and checking Facebook.
Yeah, I didn't really think he would be as funny as he was, but I loved him. I'm planning on re-watching some of the lectures online this weekend.
How did you like doing it online? I think you can pass. You've got almost three weeks!

jamesblunt69MemberAUD Trip Report:
Know your MCQ!! There were TONS of repeats from Becker, either verbatim are so similar it was unmistakable. Very few things out of left-field, much unlike some FAR/REG questions.
My level of comfort on one of the simulations definitely benefitted by the fact that I had taken FAR prior.

AnonymousInactive@Charlie, I really like the convenience of online. And thanks for the boost! I'm gonna give it my best! Good luck to you!

HustlinHustlinMember@Cosmo. Hustlin' is not Hustlin so much. Finally going to finish up MCQs of the first chapter on Audit Reports tonight if it kills me (which there are 80 or so of them so it just might)
I'm an auditor so I am a little familiar (I KNOW this doesn't make me an expert or qualified to pass) but some of the stuff we study I work with everyday….over and over and over…. So that gives me a little false sense of confidence.
For those of you who have taken the exam, did you feel a “big picture” scheme is a better way to study? In other words, focus on the things Becker thinks are important? And if you used Ninja notes do you find them helpful?
I am considering ditching out on the reading and replacing that time with mcqs over and over again.

AnonymousInactiveHustlin-then you're actually waayyy ahead of me then! The only thing I knew about auditing prior to opening my review books is how to spell it. I'm glad I already studied FAR other wise I'd be up sh$t creek without a paddle. I just got to sampling and I'm like…huh? what?
Oh well…this test should be interesting.

AnonymousInactiveSo I take my exam on Monday – and am now cranking up the MCQ’s and going over all my difficult areas – one of which is Government Auditing – it is soo much in detail in Becker and Ninja notes has it in 1.5 pages and so much simpler – the becker version is just not sticking in my brain for some reason !! any advise on that .
Also I practiced SIMS from wiley but still don’t feel confident about it – any advise on how to maximize on my SIMS – they have always been a problem area for me

I would use “Review Class Notes” in Becker software for the chapter in Govt Auditing. I have heard alot of people print them out for each chapter and then add their own notes to it while listening to the lectures, but certainly in a review mode, that might give you a bit more info.
wish I could give you info on the sims. they are the bane of my existence! honestly, this last time I took Audit, I didn't allow much time for sims, I spent most of my time on the mcq's. I looked at the sims in the AICPA recently released and then looked at some Wiley sims.
Best of luck to you on Monday….I will be sending you good vibes!!
