    @yankee—happy new year indeed. 2012 is the year you slay this beast—just in time for the world to end(just your luck!). I am riding high alright! Having the exam done before the holidays was much needed—its been great getting back into a “normal” routine again. As for being a CPA I am actually not there yet—I still have work experience to fulfill but that will come in time. I will keep checkin in on ya!

    @BakedCPA, you came back to check on us!! It feels good to know you haven't forgotten about us! I hope you're doing well! Is it weird to not come home and study all night? It must feel really great to start to New Year without any exams. 🙂 I've got two most “mini” beasts to slay… Hopefully very soon I'll be joining you in the big kids thread!

    @hopeful_cpa, I actually ended up finding a pair of red panties for my BEC exam a couple of weeks ago. I hope that pushes me to that 75 lol! You're going to Vegas and your exam is in a week?! I went to NYC last weekend to see my friends, I too thought it would give me the motivation to start re-studying for AUD—- No such luck ha. Enjoy Vegas, bet you could find some red panties there!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67

    Well I took AUD yesterday and I felt like I did good (that usually is a bad sign for me). The sims were very doable but two of them I just couldn't feel totally confident in (felt like I got about 70% right). 4 of them (research included) I felt really great about (100%) and one I am confident on about 85% of it.

    The MCQ were straight forward for the most part and I felt like the second and third testlet were about the same difficulty but didn't feel a really big change overall between the testlets.

    Here is to a nice relaxing time until scores come out….hopefully I will be done with this crazy exam!

    BEC - 60, 71, 79
    AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
    REG - 74, 76
    FAR - 75

    Yaeger Review for all except my last AUD score (Roger)!

    Family time you know… Haven't seen my brother or nephew in months and this is the only time in the next 4-5 months we can all get together, so I listened to Rogers lectures all the way driving and I brought my books as well.

    It's actually working pretty well because I'm really anxious to get back to my computer and get on these mcq's and sims.

    BEC: Done
    REG: Done
    AUD: Done
    FAR: Done

    I'M DONE!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi All,

    I have just joined CPA and planning to take AUD first either in May or in July. Have 2yr old kid so unable to decide the month. I have purchased Wiley Review book for AUD and will be purchasing Wiley Test Bank CD 2012 ( will be released on Feb 14, 2012). Will that be enough or do I have to buy Becker Review book also. If I have to buy Becker also, then is it enough if I buy 2011 edition or do I have to go for 2012 edition? Can you please advice on this…ASAP

    HELP…I have FAR again on Thursday and am wondering if using old study material is going to screw me (pardon my French). I am using Wiley 2010 and it has suited me fine so far…BUT last time I took FAR in November IFRS was HEAVILY tested and I knew nothing about it. I thought it was becuase I didn't get to study enough for that exam and did not make it through the whole book. Now that I have finished the book I found NOTHING about IFRS. Is this something that was added in 2011 material? If so, Do the NINJA notes cover this? I don't really want to go buy Wiley 2012 just for IFRS. Ugh.

    B - 76 (expires 4/30/12)
    A - 56, 82
    R - 65, 79
    F - 74, 72 (4/18 waiting)

    Hi jenshugrue, I thought the Ninja notes for FAR had a nice IFRS summary. They're cheap too. Watch, now that the AICPA gods know you had heavily tested IFRS last exam, you'll probably get like 1 MCQ on it this time.. Funny how that works out… NOT!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @Sdb2fsu,

    Congrats on being done. Sit back and enjoy not studying. I am hoping you are done with this circus too!!

    @hopeful_cpa

    I thought when you said you were going to Vegas it was going to be a “Hangover” kind of trip!!! lol. Sounds like you used your time well on the drive. Family time can be a real boost. I think it can put a real kick in your step. Enjoy your time with your bro and your nephew.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Well, I seem to be stuck in the 80% land. Every progress test, AICPA test, mini test–seems like everything keeps coming back at 80%. I am a bit discouraged since I test next Wednesday. I would feel a hell of a lot better if it was more like 85%. I do have to say that a 100 q Progress Test in Becker takes me no time at all. But a 90 mcqs in Wiley takes me much longer. Can't figure out if it is me memorizing the Becker questions or that the Wiley are worded in such a way that you need to read everything. ……coffee talk…I am getting vaclemped…talk amongst yourselves. hehehehe
    The big question, “Do I dare take the Becker Final Exam?” @Peanut –are you going to do the final with Becker?
    AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Ok, better now. 🙂
    @MAdhavi
    Welcome. I would say it depends. Wiley is extremely affordable. Becker is pretty expensive. I got it thru my job which had a discount from being affiliated with the McGladrey Network, but even then, it was still pricey. Adding to your review program really depends on you and so many other factors:
    ** do you need a review or a teaching program?
    **do you learn by listening (lectures) or do you need to read?
    There are more things to consider, I couldn't think of them all just now!!! In terms of what edition: 2011 or 2012? I would get whatever the most recent is. I am guessing Becker isn't selling the 2011 anymore. You should check out Youtube and look at the various review programs in action. I wish I had done that.
    Best of luck to you.
    @Yankee… ehhh!!! I don't knoww… We both know better… It's so tempting, because if we do well we know “we've got this,” but if we do terrible, we kick ourselves in the butt. I'll probably just do the first one. Maybe. We'll see! I still have time to decide lol
    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    If you do do it, I personally wouldn't do it two days before an exam. Do it today or tomorrow so then if you don't do as well as you hoped you can tell yourself you still have a few days to iron out the weaknesses!
    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    @peanut yup I am still around occasionally to check up on folks. I can see why Jeff decided to do this for a living, knowing the trials and tribulations of being a CPA candidate I can't help but take an interest in how other candidates are doing. For your motivation's sake, I won't answer your question about how it feels to not have to study or to be done for the new year—in fact this free time sucks! I'd rather be “enriching my mind” and Mr. Olinto would say—I envy you! Hope you feel good about your recent BEC exam and that you continue to plow through into audit. Best of luck!
    Ok, 9:15 closing my laptop. About 7 hours today. I ended the day with 80% on a Wiley test. Still needs improvement. Tomorrow I tackle sims! Good luck to those testing this weekend!
