i'm going through all the questions through wiley again and i'm getting mid 70's to mid 80's on all the questions except for audit sampling and reporting… sampling in the 60's, and reporting in the low 70's…. so now i'm going through the reporting lecture again to joggle up some memory. other than that, i really think i should have passed audit the first time i took it but that didnt happen… so i'm just reviewing a lot to bring it all back and going over all the notes and mnemonics.

yep. pretty much what I am doing. I finished all Becker q's and did all 740 in Wiley's Review Book. I score higher in Becker over 80% but then 70-80 in Wiley. I did the Gleim free trial and got all 80-90's-that totally surprised me. I am refreshing on the same two areas. I think those are key areas to be tested…along with internal control. So, I will spend time rereading and watching some of the lectures. I was stronger on the q's last round, so I am most worried about the sims too. I will wear red panties, slay some goats, not step on any cracks–the whole ball of wax, just so I don't have to do this again!!!!

Hey yankee, pretty sure ya still remember me. looks like we are still stuck on audit

my last 2 scores for audit have been 74,73 last time I was sure i was going to pass but didnt think I bombed the sims that bad I did really well on the MC's and simply got owned by the simulations. I'm assuming we had the same exam.

Anyways, I hope we get some reasonable sims this time and not some retarded FAR like questions.

I'm just going to go through the wiley MCQ's and do all the simulation.

hey bkkguru!!

I am sorry to see that you are hung up on Audit like me. We probably did have the same exam:( I got a 74. According to my report, it was the sims. I feel like every time I say “sims” I say it like Jerry Seinfeld said, “Newman”!!!!

I am with you on getting better sims! I am doing mcq's and will do the Gleim sim wizard, I hope it works this time. Glad to hear from you……we are going to get past Audit this time!!!

I'm glad I took FAR before AUD because the SIMS were kinda FAR related. I had 2 JE SIMS and I'm pretty sure I nailed them because of my FAR studies. I didn't think my SIMS were too bad. I thought they were the easiest SIMS out of the 4 exams.

I'll guess I'll find out in early FEB if I passed or not..praying every night before bed lol

@yankeeaccountant- Hey i am in the same boat as you , sooooo not motivated to study , this is taking wayy to long, i am so tempted to postpone but feel like it will just prolong the agony , – btw when are you taking your exam – and are you pounding out the MCQ's from Becker and Wiley or are you reading the Chapters as well and then doing questions topic wise …i was planning on using Jeff's – ” pass the exam in 20 days ” strategy from now on until the exam “

yep. pretty much my MO. I did the Wiley q's in this 2012 review book with updated info. I have done all the Becker, and have done many progress tests. In the last few days my scores have gone down….guess it shows my lack of motivation. I got a 79% last night when before I was well into the 80's. UGH. I have been up since 6 and have avoided studying. I cleaned the kitchen, did 4 loads of laundry and took out the garbage–AAAHHH. I have to snap out of it. I am waiting on a pin for Wiley online (my expired, yes, been doing this THAT long) and I am in mud. I guess I am going to go do some AICPA exam q's till I can get on Wiley. I feel like I am memorizing Becker, I need to back off of it for a bit.

I do spend time reading sections that I score weak on. Last night I took time to read a chapter on Audit Sampling. I think I am good on that now. For me, reading does help me sort out the things in my head. I take the exam next week…how about you? We have to PASS this time!!!!

sorry, can't loan you a pen. my loaner is in my hand and the other one is in MY EYE!!! UGH. I just have to make myself crank it out today! It is gray and raining and blah…..just like Audit. I need to watch some stuff on the movitation thread..maybe that will help?! Thirty Rock is on tonight….I think I smell a study break……( a little Liz Lemon and Jack just might do the trick….)

Haha, we're going to have a lot of eyeless CPAs! I haven't officially scheduled my exam. I'd like to sit February 22nd. 22 is my number. My prometric doesn't fill up very fast so I'm not too worried. Crappy weather on the east coast here as well, I have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and it's still coming.

I just have two chapter lectures down. No questions yet. Becker has 5 chapters.. I'm trying to do two lectures a day so I can be done with the lectures and pound out MCQs.

Did anyone take notes studying for AUD? I found that notes were essential for me to pass REG. I wrote and rewrote for REG and found that that really helped me. I tried this for AUD Attempt #1 and it did not help me one bit. I think I should have read the chapters as opposed to taking notes. This time around I'm not doing notes. Did note taking/non-note taking help you guys?

Notes are good for me. It helped pop up my score this last time. I read the book the first time and took notes, but that didn't help the first time. This last time I rewrote notes that I had gotten from a friend and then rewrote the cram pages from the Roger Cram. That made a huge difference. It could have also been the Roger cram, I felt like he filled in alot of holes.

Do what your gut tells ya!

30 ROCK FREAKING RULES!!!!! Can't wait for the season premier tonight… Ok, back to serious matters now…30 ROCK RULES!!!!! I have the Roger cram but it doesn't work on my mac… I need to contact tech support and get this thing working, I got a 69 last time around so I'm sure I can knock it out this time if I just focus on my stupid mistakes I made and get my mnemonics correct.

i'm having major trouble finding my red boxers, and this new brand i got doesn't make red boxers!!! UGH!!!!! maybe I should paint these…. anyways… I'm taking a few days off from studying because of the lack of motivation and going to Vegas… that SHOULD snap me out of it and give me 4-5 days of just bang out studying before my exam next Thursday.

I practically re-wrote the rogers book with notes last time around, I felt it helped, especially with reviewing now, I don't have read everything in the book, but then again, that's probably why I didn't get through it last time, I'm sure I missed the fine details that they tested on. I'm just hoping for some doable sims that I don't get massacred on again this time.
