Took my exam today. Like all the others I really don't know how I did so I'm not going to try and predict my score. I'll take a 75!

The MCQs were fairly tough but fair. It took me 2 hours to finish all 3 testlets. I don't know if that is a good or bad sign considering some people said it took them only 1.5 hours. I had some tough questions though.

The SIMS were not as bad as I expected. I think they were easier than the MCQs lol The research question was poorly worded but I believe I got the right answer for it. There was a SIM that I found word for word in the literature so I know that one is 100% correct, and it better count LOL I think the last SIM was the pretest SIM because it didn't really make any sense compared to the other 6 and it was on a weird topic. All in all, I answered all 7 with a lot of confidence in my answers.

Now the wait starts….come on 75! 🙂

I am pulling for you!! You get to sit back and relax and wait for good news!! Can't wait to do that myself. I am so hoping I get sims like you….I have been getting the sims from hell on Audit in the past. LOL!

I hope this is it. I may actually pick up a non-accounting book and start reading again 🙂 This is going to be a long month of waiting for scores.

RedRage, I took it yesterday and I think I might have got the same last simulation as you because mine didn't make any sense either. It was just worded really weird and didn't make much sense at all.

Good morning,

I'm new here and plan to take my first exam – AUD on the 25th. How long does everyone study each section before testing? I went to Becker last month while finishing 2 graduate courses and I have just section A5 left to finish in the homework. I have done progress tests when finishing each section and one sim. Tonight I plan to finish A5 and take another progress test, then the rest of the week to concentrate on the sims. Any advice would be appreciated.

Oh yeah and I start REG with Becker this saturday with test scheduled Feb 27th.

Hi, for those of you use Becker, I need help! Can we mention in audit communication that “no material weaknesses were identified?” The Becker 2011 textbook A5-26 says that you can, but A5-38, 5. says that you cannot. I'm so confused. Any input will be really appreicated!

@Wang: we cann't communicate “no material weaknesses” when auditing “NON-ISSUER”

But we can communicate “material weakness” when we provide Examination service(attestation) i.e. internal control over financial reporting for “NON-ISSUER” And auditing “ISSUER” (PCOAB).

@MAXX, Per the book, my understanding is just opposit:

We cannot communicate “no material weaknesses were identified” when doing integrated audit (include I/C audit)

We can communicate “no material weaknesses were identified” when doing F/S audit only.

That's why I'm so confused.

Just took AUD this morning. It was a fair exam. I only got 2 questions on IFRS. 2nd testlet was hard. Simulations were farily okay…not hard not easy. Copied 2 simulations directly from the research.

Hoping to passssssss and will be done with cpaaa…

Took Audit Today. I say 90% of the MCQs on my exam were straight from Becker or similar to Becker (no IAS questions). Actually I got the same question twice lol, on the same testlet, which i thought it was pretty funny. The second and third testlets were a tad harder. Just like others have mentioned, the Sims were definitely a step up in difficulty compared to the other testlets. I used Becker and Final Review Becker and I thought it was more than enough for the exam. Anyway, now the waiting begins…. 🙂

Reporting is beating me up right now… of all the sections I am reviewing, this one I am doing the worst on. I cant seem to get the information in my head straight. This is also a section on the exam that was weaker as well.

can somebody help me understand why D is wrong?

Which event that occurred after the end of the fiscal year under audit but prior to issuance of the auditor’s report would not require disclosure in the financial statements?

A. Sale of the bond or capital stock issue.

B. Loss of plant or inventories as a result of fire or flood.

C. A major drop in the quoted market price of the stock of the corporation.

D. Settlement of litigation when the event giving rise to the claim took place after the balance sheet date.
