I think the costs for re-score is almost the same as the examination fee, so for audit about $190++, however, it will take almost two months before you can get the result. So, I am considering to submit a re-score for this test, and at the same time re-take AUD in Jan 2012. Reason is that my FAR credit will expire on 4/1/2012, so I only have two chances to pass AUD.

I posted on 12/1 about how rough the AUD test was. I was really distraught. I took it in Arkadelphia Arkansas and it was my third attempt and for the first time I felt like I really struggled. Even took the entire 4 hours when in the past I finished in about two.

After all that stress I got my score and I got an 88. I can't believe it but I'll take it. I am finally done.

    FAR 79

    BEC 80

    REG 81

    AUD 68-74-88

Congrats ar_guy! I just took my AUD section and got bad news when I looked at my score…I didn't think I did that bad and I actually studied and knew the material!!! I guess I just gotta give it another shot…

    AUD - 11/27/2011 63 worst feeling ever!
REG - 02/27/2012 58 horrible! didn't prep as well as first exam
    BEC - 03/02/2012 - 71 (my best score yet!)
    FAR - 05/18/2012 - 51

@ar_guy What materials did you use on your third attempt? Did you add more to what you have? It is a huge 14 points improvement. It will be my third attempt too in Jan 2012 and I also got 68 and 74. I hope our scores will be the same thru the third attempt. Was the exams more difficult on your third attempt?

Yes @khanhktruong29 you must keep trying. The CPA exam is weird that way. Everytime I walked out scared to death I did well. The first time I failed AUD I walked out feeling good about it. You can never tell by how you feel because I was a basketcase when I left the test last week. I was sure I had failed.

As for my materials. I used Becker home study for all four sections through my second AUD attempt. For my last attempt. the Becker had expired and I didn't want to pay to use it again. I would have been around $260 which I thought was rediculous after paying almost $3000 for it. The Becker promise is worthless because of this in my opinion. Anyway I just reread the Book I got through Becker. I have the flashcards but I never used them. Then I got the Wiley test questions and sims which I bought through this site. I took a week off of work and took a practice exam three times per day except for Thanksgiving. My last Wiley practice test was done at 11pm the night before my 8am test and I got an 88 on it so I was feeling pretty good. Sure wish I had left the test feeling good, I wasted a week in depression.

Thanks for the inspiration. I am new to this site and just joined today after I found out my scores for AUD. I was feeling so sad and depressed because like you said, I felt good after I took the test, anyway, I guess I will just have to keep on studying and trying. This forum is such a good place to talk to other candidates who are in the same boat. I just can't wait until I can post that I passed all four exams!!! Man, I have a long ways to go! Well, congrats to you and goodluck if u are still taking any other exam parts.

@Tryinghard: I used Becker for all 4 parts (passed them all at the first try – very lucky I am!!!) I basically watched lectures and did MCQs, grasped the concept by doing MCQs a lot.

I did not read the book, just skimmed through ebook whenever I hit a wrong answer and did not know why (Becker software allows me to directly link to the related information while being on the homework tab. Not that I did not want to read the book, but watching lectures kept me awake better 🙂

@Khanhtruong29: I felt crappy after AUD, I could not believe my eyes when I got the score of 90. BTW, ten toi la Ngoc 🙂

    Good luck to all!

Congratulations on passing the exam! I can't wait until I can post that I am officially done! It seems like AUD is one of the more challenging exam parts but it's just so weird that I felt good after I took the exam but still a little iffy. I am also using Becker, hopefully I will do well on the other parts, until then, I will set aside AUD for a while. Thanks for the luck!

Thanks! My suggestion is working on FAR first because other sections do contain some FAR concepts: ratios, JEs (BEC, audit related), capitalization, depreciation rules (REG, Audit related)… I hated AUD too because I never worked in audit field before and I took one audit class some 10 years ago, so I saved it for last, got it highest, ironically! 🙂

That's exactly how I did it. FAR first the BEC then REG. I too never worked in Audit so it was my hardest. I work at the IRS but not doing audits. Thinking about buying into a practice with some friends after I get my sheepskin.

I am in total agreement. I want to end my Audit dance too! GL to you.

    @hopeful_cpa

NOOOOOOOO!! I just saw your post. I am so bummed for you. Audit really is a pisser, I think we both agree it is the work of the devil 😉

I got my score report today, and it really chapped my hide. I was stronger and comparable in all mcq' sections. overall stronger on the mcq's and weaker in sims. So, it clearly was the sims that ruined me this shot. I don't know how to prepare for them. I will start tomorrow from scratch, and make will use the Gleim Sim wizard. I am hoping that does the trick. Let me know how you are going to approach the study plan. I am going to schedule the test in mid January and then take REG at the end of February. Crossing my fingers. I am crossing my fingers for you too!!! Take time to be pissed and then get up and get in attack mode, you can do it!!!
