    @yankee,

    I think simulated exams are much better, because you don't know which chapter/topic the question is from and don't have that the tendency to turn this test into a “guessing game” (when you know which section the question belongs to it's easier to guess the right answer just because it belongs to the topic being tested). I assume you know what I'm talking abut.

    But I use progress tests instead. I wish I could sit through the entire 100 MCQ at once, but in my “on-the-nest” situation I just don't find it necessary to torture myself unless it's a real exam. Well, I will do two final exams this weekend, mostly for time management purposes.

    BEC - 10/12/2011 - 78
    AUD - 11/23/2011 - 84
    FAR - 02/22/2012 - 76 (I'll take it!)
    REG - 08/31/2012

    hey Ipass,

    I agree with you completely. For some reason, I keep using the progress tests. I think I will try the simulated tomorrow, I could be relying on knowing what section is up next. I keep going back and forth with Wiley and Becker, it helps me not to get too used to either format.

    On the nest—are you having a baby? Congrats!!! Wow, hats off to you doing this! You are a multitasker! I used to give my hubby grief when I was preggo, he would ask me what I did today..I would reply, ” Nothing much, make a few organs here and there, you know the regular stuff–what did YOU do? hahahaha.

    I am going to hit it hard tomorrow and hopefully hit my stride! Have a great study day tomorrow!

    @Hopeful_cpa (ferrukh-nice to meet you!)

    The Roger cram is about 8 hours long. I am finding that even though I have listened to the whole cram already, I am using it again. I am relistening to about 5 portions just to reinforce my weak spots. I find Roger to be so detail-oriented that I don't feel like watching the video is a waste of time–at least not for me. I am guessing that since your test is later, that I would start the cram now/this weekend, so that if you need to go back and review that section, you can do so. I would also do the AICPA released q's in the study book–they are great practice. Sounds like you have a good plan for the next couple of days–you are on a good path. Keep it up!

    Hey yankee! Thanks! I think it's much harder to do it with kids or job or kids and job. Of course I could find gazillion things to do instead, read all those books to prepare for baby's arrival, take yoga & birthing classes and eat&sleep as much as I want (well this is pretty much I want to do right now anyway). But I understand that every extra hour I don't spend studying right now can turn into weeks or even months that I would have to spend later.

    Let's do it, yankee! Five more days of studying feverishly and we should be done with audit forever!

    woohoo! Book it Dano! ( I realize I am showing my age with my weird references—this was from Hill Street Blues!) Finally got a 79% on a simulated exam in Becker! Phew 😉

    @Ipass

    Hope your day is going well. I noticed when I did the simulated exam in Becker, it went in order of sections, just like the progress reports. Not really sure why Becker has this feature? It seems to me, if you want to do a simulated exam, you could just use the progress report function and choose all sections? I didn't really notice any change of level of difficulty in these questions. What do you think?

    Yankee, seems like you got it!

    As to the progress test/simulated exam, I think Becker's developers should work on some more sophisticated algorithms for their software. I wouldn't expect them to make progress tests adaptive, but they should at least present the questions randomly, not in order of lectures/topics.

    I took AUD Thurday afternoon. The first testlet was ok only a few questions that were really tough, the second seemed easier than the first, then the last one was pretty rough. The simulations were ok. Very similar to Becker except one was definitely all FAR. The research question was awful!!!! I'm hoping it was a pre-test! It didn't make much sense so I tried to just concentrate on the last question to find out exactly what they were asking, Nothing was working. Liliana was right! AUD is brutal and much worse than FAR! I'm just hoping I got a 75.

    FAR - 63, 79
    AUD - 83!
    REG - 37, 79
    BEC - 70, 79

    You do not need to know the standards by number or exact. LOL. You just need to know which standards pertain to the situation – i.e. private industry vs public. And know where to find the information.

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
    BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD
