    First exam is Saturday. Feeling pretty good, have been drilling MCQ for a few weeks now.

    Becker Final Review was a tremendous help, really tied everything together for me.

    @ipass

    hehe. I guess I am going to have to go back and review A4. UGH. Audit sucks.

    @Brian

    Sounds like you are on a good path! Best of luck to you on the 12th.

    hey, just noticed we are testing on the same day. how are you feeling? besides A4, I just feel ok. I am finishing all my mcq's from a new Wiley Review book with intermittent progress tests in Becker. I am going to rewrite the notes this weekend. I am hoping that helps me get over my Audit hump. This is my third try (ya know I hate saying that, it has a crappy feel to it) so I need to put this away. I think there is a new Audit movie coming out: Nightmare on CPA Street starring: Yankeeaccountant!!! I must need more caffeine. I hope your study efforts are going well. ok, back to work.

    @yankee,

    I can't say I'm enjoying it, lol. But it's going ok (not good, but OK). I'm still on A4, the amount of MCQ is just killing me! I remember you compared audit to watching paint dry and I cannot agree more with you.

    Overall, I'm scoring 70-80% on my first try, hopefully will improve once I go back and rework all the questions. Haven't touched any sims yet, feel like I need to get a better understanding of the concepts through MC first and then can move on to sims.

    Oh, and if there are any Audit movies, I'm sure all of them belong to category of the scariest horror movies 🙂 But we'll get through it! You are probably an audit expert by now and just can't admit it (look at mla1169!)

    BEC - 10/12/2011 - 78
    AUD - 11/23/2011 - 84
    FAR - 02/22/2012 - 76 (I'll take it!)
    REG - 08/31/2012

    Need some study advice.

    In the past what I usually do is go through all the lectures then I go through all the MCQ's. Since Audit is the worst subject on the face of this beautiful planet, do you suggest I should do the MCQ's after each chapter and master each chapter 1 by 1?

    This would be a change to my usual study method, but it may work for this subject since there is no math or anything that I am good at.

    Any help would be great!! Thanks in advance =)

    I wish I could chime in to help. But since this is my third swipe, I am thinking you don't want advice from me. But had to tell you that your description of the exam is spot on!!!

    Is anyone aware of the Ethics exam? Is it required, and if so, when? I'm IL if that matters.

    My general feeling (from what I've seen on here) is that the MCQs are the best way to understand the material. SIMS are important to practice but AUD is largely about memorizing material, and that's what MCQ helps you with.

    @bnlacombe – For IL you have to buy the “Professional Ethics: AICPA's Comprehensive Course” and take the exam within 1 year. You have 3 attempts to pass it and you must pass before being registered/licensed.

    Buy it ASAP because I heard they're going to make the exam tougher. Right now, it's laughably easy! 40 questions straight out of the book, verbatim!

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

    Used NIU Correspondence CPA Review

    For the audit exam during the MCQ is the research tab available??

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

    @gottagetmycpa I do not believe so, as that would seem to give most of the answers away.
