@akb9874 – Try not to interpret it because you have no way of really knowing because questions you may easily answer might be deemed “hard” by the AICPA… I learned this when I took BEC.

I just took AUD this morning as well and none of the testlets seemed harder than the rest. Overall, I only flat out guessed on about 3 and was a little iffy on about 10 questions but the rest I knew without a problem. As for the SIMs, I thought they weren't too bad except for one that really ticked me off because it was purely 100% FAR.

At least the good news is that we should know our results in 3 weeks!

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

When you say purely 100% FAR sim, do you mean it involved J/E? I can handle those…can't handle anything else besides that. Haven't taken far🙁 Why can't they just test AUD materials in AUD, seriously? haha

Btw, was A4 tran cycles heavily tested? My weakest topic…

@hopefulcpa. I took aud yesterday and I did have a TBS that focused on far material. I would not have been able to compete the TBS without knowing the far material, because the TBS required the proper accounting for a particular issue that is not basic straightforward accounting. Unless someone has already started studying for aud, I strongly recommend taking far first. However, it was only one TBS. Everything else came out the the Becker aud material.

Also, don't over study A4. While that material is tested, it did not seem to be tested in detail. If you're comfortable with the A4 Becker MCQ, I think you will be okay.

@Lynn1234 – I use NIU Correspondence CPA Review (cpareview.niu.edu) exclusively. I studied 6 weeks for AUD and spent this past week rereading all of the books and doing disgusting amounts of MCQs.

My advice, is make sure you're 100% solid on the AICPA Code of Conduct, all reports (including compilations & reviews) and their modifications (explanatory paragraphs, qualified, adverse, etc) and audit sampling. These were things that I reviewed most heavily before today's exam and I'm certain this is the reason why I didn't feel the testlets getting much harder as I progressed.

@hopefulcpa28 – When I said purely 100% FAR, I meant it. I am very comfortable with J/Es and was prepared for adjusting entries and the such. The SIM I had was a topic that I didn't even cover enough during my FAR studies to answer with full confidence and I took FAR in July! That SIM most definitely did not belong on today's exam. Thankfully it was just one awful SIM so I hope I picked up at least partial points and compensated on the others. Good luck!

Thank you so much, you guys!! I really appreciate your feedback on FAR SIM, and A4.

I took Aud back in july (failed it by 2 points) and rarely had any A4 questions. Only two, and there were really basic. I thought I got lucky, and really nervous for this time around. But thanks for making me feel better, I'm planning to do becker sims at least 3 times and hopefully that should be enough.

Ugh that dreadful FAR SIMS, I haven't even studied far so that'll be a challenge, but like you said…it's only one. Hopefully others are manageable!

Thanks again, and Good Luck to all of us!!

    @katiekanton A4 in Becker is:

    audit documentation

    audit evidence

audit procedures by transaction cycle (HUGE portion of A4)

    other audit procedures

the effect of IT on the audit

    audit findings

    ratios

After reading some of these comments, I am looking for advice on studying for JE's that may appear in AUD SIMS. I have not studyied FAR yet, is there a particular section of Becker's FAR material that might be helpful?

    REG – 78 (April 2011)

    BEC – 80 (July 2011)

FYI everyone- Just took AUD for the third time. This time I actually studied like I should have, did all the MC's and Sims in Becker and I feel like I really did well this time. I have never felt so good walking out of an exam. Got harder questions both times and had plenty of time for sims. I thought I would share something with everyone about sims:

I previously felt like some of the sims were WAY out of left field. This time I got a sim that I had previously gotten the first time I took the exam. I had no idea how to answer each situation. I hesitantly looked in the research tab for some guidance thinking that it might help and BAM: word for word examples with the answers in the research tab. It took me 10 min to find the research I was looking for but it was there! If you have time, and you think a question comes out of left field, look under the research tab it may help!

    FAR- 75
    REG- 82
BEC- 73, 79!! Its over. Am I dreaming?
    AUD- 74, 74, 88

Does anybody have any advice on how to study the Code of Professional Conduct-Rules, Interpretations, and Rulings? There are so many!

@mandy8041: Thank you so much for posting your experience. I'm taking it for the second time, and I hope I have similar experience as you!

I'm doing all passmaster MCQ. SIMS as well as using final review. I'm doing them at least three times and hoping that will suffice for testlets. I'm def. using research tab this time around as so many people have said it has helped them.

Did you use anything else besides Becker?

    Thanks again, and good luck!!
