AnonymousInactiveI had my audit exam this morning and it was just awful. I seriously left crying. The multiple choice questions were not so bad. Like many have said, some were very similar to ones that I'd seen in the Becker software. The simulations were soooo hard! Two of them actually seemed more like FAR questions than they were auditing. I struggled with bonds in FAR and now they are haunting me in audit! To make things worse, for the first time ever (between all of the practice tests, simulations on Becker, and my FAR test), I was not able to figure out the Authoritative Literature. I spent an hour and a half on it and ended up filling in an answer that I knew was wrong. The question seemed to be asking for so many things and I could not find any relationships with them in the literature. So I am pretty confident I bombed 4 of the 7 simulations. Anyone else have a similar experience and still pass? I don't think I have a chance. 🙁

katelynParticipantHello, audit gang!
I'm finishing up my lessons on AUD today or tomorrow, and my test isn't until the 29th. (I got a little ahead due to two parties the next two Saturdays this month 🙂
ANYWAY, can you please recommend some cheap/free sources for TBS practice? Almost all the SIMS on my software (CPAexcel) are T/F or Matching, and obviously that won't be on the test. Alternatively, perhaps you could mention the formats you've seen on your own study materials?
Also, how have ya'll prepared for the bazillion types of reports there are in auditing?

SonaliParticipant@ CPA Study Victim – As I've already mentioned.. at My exams on AUD on 7th.. MCQ were very similar to the one I've seen in Becker, Wileysoftware or cpareviewforfree.. But SIMS were absolutely diff case..those were so tough..!! n research Q.. it was a very straight forward Q.. but I've found many answers for the same in authoritative tab.. did judgmentally.. watever I felt lik is the best among 3-4 answers I mentioned tat..! At my past two exams for AUD.. I didnt do well in SIMS..wherein I felt I did well in SIMS. n I failed.. n this tym SIMS were itself bad..!! keeping my fingers crossed for next 20 days.. 😉

hacka75ParticipantI am using Bisk Classic for my AUD review. I was wondering if anyone is using the Bisk Online review for AUD? If so, on the viewer notes that go with the instructional video, are there blanks in the notes to fill out? There are none in the classic view.
I just think the blanks help you concentrate on the material. The Classic study guide seems extremely slow on computer, anyone else have this problem?
Also, I just passed FAR using Bisk online review.

hopefulcpa28MemberAgreed upon procedures and for f/s that presented in accordance with other than OCBOA and GAAP are for limited uses. Also for compliance with regulatory and laws…Am I right?

hopefulcpa28MemberUsually reports are limited when readers aren't aware of the things that go behind it…does that make sense?

supervisorParticipant@ CPA Study Victim- i took my AUD this saturday and noticed that two of the 6 sims were really FAR sims too. i sent AICPA a fax regarding the fact that the two items were not in the Content and skill specifications under Audit. lets see if they get back to me. highly doubt it but we'll see. overall, i thought the exam went ok…waiting on the next 28 days for the score releases. ugh. i thought the scores were supposed to be released every two weeks but that's not the case.

AnonymousInactiveSupervisor – that was a good idea, contacting the AICPA. I hope that they do get back to you.
HopefulCPA – I don't want to go into too much detail, but yes, my two FAR simulations did deal with journal entries. One of them was more general and the other one delt specifically with bonds which I had struggled with in FAR.

katiekantonMemberOk, so I was going to take AUD next Monday, but it's my first section so I haven't studied FAR yet and it's been three years since I was in school. You guys have me scared out of my wits about these SIMS that are out of left field. So, give me some advice. Should I :
1 – finish studying AUD and then start studying FAR and then take both sections at the same time (or a few days apart for review of the second section),
or
2 – just study the bonds chapter in FAR and then take AUD.
Is there a way to private message people here? This is my first post and I don't see a way to do it. Thanks so much for all you guys' help and advice. I can't believe I didn't find this place sooner!
