snick722ParticipantI am taking AUD tomorrow for (omg) the third time. The first time I studied with CPA Excel (yack), the second time with only Becker, and this time with Becker, Wiley, CPAreviewforfree.com, Jeff's Ninja Notes, and ‘Auditing for Dummies'. I have been studying for a month. Earlier this year when I took it, I studied for 2 weeks straight (about 8 hours a day) and I got a 73. So close! This time, I am studied for about the same number of hours a day, for the last month… I just hope it's enough.
I was “stronger” in the MCQ but it was the simulations that killed me during my exam in February. I am still getting between 70-80% correct on Becker & Wiley practice exams but I am scared out of my mind for the simulations come tomorrow!!! Any last minute advice on what I can do today???
I have been going through Wiley today as well as all my notes, flashcards, etc. I have one practice exam left in Becker to take, which I want to take tonight. Should I focus on the Wiley MCQ and try to understand concepts a little more? (maybe get to where I can get 90% correct) Or should I strictly do simulations from this point on? I am freaking out!

anonymousParticipantAudit simulations SUCK! I've been consistently getting high 80s on the MCQs, but the stupid simulations always bring me down. Has anybody figured out any tricks? I've mastered the research part, but I still seem to screw up everything that you can't find the answer to in the standards.

The mp3s were part of Kaplan's review course. I believe they and others sell the MP3s separate. AUD has 6.2 hours split into 18 sections. I keep a cd in the car listen at the gym and fall asleep at night reviewing.
@Yankee
I am borderline on motivation. I tho
Ink I may ave mistimed my peak. I saved this week for Wiley MCQs and mon for sims tues for touch up. However I was doing IC in AUD and got 30-90 wrong. 20 was do to second guessing myself thinking ” can't be that obvious”. 8 needed work 2 were not even close. I am more nervous to be done and still facing lack of any job. Had 3 interviews 2 companies decided not filling position. 3rd was an odd interview left thinking what just happened? no word.

I actually felt like the questions on the 2nd testlet got a little easier 🙁 at least in the beginning. I'm hoping that that's just in my mind….but I doubt it. The questions were just straight forward. I can't remember about the 3rd testlet…I definitely don't think they got easier though. I'm hoping for the best. Can't wait until September!

yankeeaccountantParticipant@peanut–welcome!!! I am soooo hoping that I won't be joining you in October for a retake..but I have to say UGH! I am good with most of the material except the last two sections in Becker. It is funny because I feel like Audit is a great comparison of Becker and Wiley in that there are some areas of content that Wiley goes into greater detail and vice versa, which is par for the course, but in this case it is the most apparent to me. Could be because I am struggling, who knows? I am reviewing, so now I am on A5 in Becker, which totally is the pits. I mean, no offense to auditing, but is this the devil's work????haha. JK. It is taking me forever to get thru the mcq's in this section because I have to read the question so slowly. I have 162 mcq left to do and then the sims. Time flies when you are having so much fun. I am crabby. Sorry. Just got my electric bill. Holy cow. The highest I have had in my 5 yrs in Nashville. Then I go and pick up food for me and my son and they miniature-ized the guacamole container and still charged $4. Kinda like how the cerael boxes keep getting a weee bit smaller but the price doesn't change. I digress. My apologies. Best of luck on Audit. You are on a roll..keep it up. BTW I always take off my shoes (5 ft 2), I am so used to not touching the ground ! But the Prometric I go to have never said anything.
Keep the faith. I think that the sims environment is changing on all the exams, they are just too hard to study for. They are definitely a wild card. Keep doing the mcq's (btw nice scores!!) Good luck
@snick
sounds like you are doing great. Jeff always recommends spending more time on the mcq's than doing the sims. I like to do the sims at least once because then it gives me an idea of how they set up questions and what they were trying to ask me. But if you have done them, keep the mcq's going. I usually like to reread my notes or ninja notes the day of my exam, just to take a mental picture. Good luck, report back and let us know how it goes 🙂
Finish strong guys!!! We can do it. (ok, I am trying to convince myself as I say that)

yankeeaccountantParticipantMorning!
What a difference a ton of M&M's peanut butter can make! I pulled myself together and did another practice exam (justmcq's) and scored a 68% late last night. UGH. But it prompted me to get my head out of my @ss last night and get focused. I wrote out a schedule for the next 5 days. I was so detailed that I even budgeted the time for the task—is auditing rubbing off on me? I think I just rolled out an audit schedule …..haha.
But, so far, I got up with purpose and crossed off one item on the list. Now just 7.5 hours left to study today 🙂
Keep it going !!!

anonymousParticipant🙂 It's really comforting knowing that everyone else is scrambling to study for their end-of-the-window audit tests and that we're all freaking out. (Although I wish we weren't all freaking out, obviously) But still, it's nice to have a whole army going at this together. Thanks guys!
And now, back to drawing out transaction cycles…

snick722ParticipantOk. so I took AUD this morning and……………. it wasn't terrible. At least the MCQ's weren't. Naturally the simulations were a pain in the a$$$$$$$. I was so confused for half of them, but I hope that I made the right educated guesses.
Most of what I saw in MC was either:
1. An exact question from my study materials
2. Wayyyy too easy (common sense if you've been all AUD AUD AUD 24/7 for the past month)
3. Something I have not come across at all – which is odd considering I've only done (at least) 1,000 MCQs
The other 25% of questions actually made me think, in a good way 🙂
BUT of course, I was totally focused on certain topics yesterday and of course, I HARDLY get questioned on those topics. Just my luck. Instead, in the case of the simulations, I saw questions that I knew I should have dug deeper into understanding, but was so focused on the *more heavily tested* topics that I didn't…
At least I feel really confident about the MCQs.
I'm not saying too much am I?

I have test on 30th of this month……I am sooo sooooo nervous about the exam…….I have to pass this exam at anycost if not I will start loosing my credits and if I pass I will done (by god grace i willl) with my last exam……

snick722ParticipantI got only one research tab. I used Becker/Wiley mostly. I would say definitely know JE and I would say focus more on engagement planning, audit reports, and IFAC… but then again, every test is different. Don't be nervous, it honestly wasn't that bad, the simulations were just more than I was prepared for 🙁
