I don't know how the AICPA score sims. First of all, one sim can be pretest, so it wouldn't be scored and no one knows which one is pretest. One thing I do know is that all the scored ones have equal weight. For instance, a tab that requires 15 calculations is scored equally with a research tab. Just do your very best at each and one of them.
I havent given you much advice except sharing my study routines. If you r looking for advice, this is what i think for u:
– Make notes on all important notes, reread them once more before the exam. If you don't want to make notes, atleast read the material. I think you need to get a stronger hold on the material based on your responses (I mean for each sim, you should know where it come from)
-keep practicing MCQ to maintain the stronger position
-for the one category where you got weaker, work hard, get addiitonal info or research until you get it. Take MCQ test on gleim software only in that section until you get 75% or higher.
-prepare for JEs, ratios, accounting changes, accounting using FMV method (this is what I am doing).
-When answering sims, try to answer everything to your best the first time around. Most importantly REVIEW each one again. When I look at the Qs again for sims, I have changed my entire answer b'cos I get it when they want. This is possible only when you save atleast 1.5 hrs for sims. Time mgmt is critical.
– For sims research quickly even if you think u know the answer…u never know what you have missed. Many tabs may require a couple of calculations and if one is missed the entire answer in each one tab is wrong and doesn't matter if you did consider all other rules.
Best of luck!
