J/E can be very important on AUD. You won't necessarily have a SIM that requires them, but they are also helpful with some MCQ. If you feel comfortable with the ones you needed with FAR, you should be OK. There are a huge variety of SIMS, so even if I could tell you what mine were like, yours could be completely different. The AICPA site has a few SIMS in their practice test. The Wiley test bank has decent SIMS that will give you a good idea of the types of things you will see on the exam. The best way to prepare for SIMS once you're familiar with the format is to do lots of MCQ. That's the best way to get a strong grasp of the material. Memorize the unqualified opinion and learn how the changes required for the other reports. Go through this thread and look at threads from the last few months about AUD for some other useful tips.

LlaveMemberHello,
New to the forum, just discovered it after coming home after taking AUD for the first time. Second exam I've taken, first was FAR which I got a 70 on, which was mostly my fault due to lack of studying.
So I'm off work until September (have about 9 months of public acct experience), and I scheduled two parts during this period. Just took audit today on 7/18 and am planning to re-take FAR on 8/31. I was told by several coworkers that two weeks would be enough for AUD, which I'm not so sure of now, so I studied approx 110 hours during this time.
I took the two practice exams and did pretty good on them, finishing both with about 90 minutes to spare. I took every sim available within becker and did decent on them too, so my confidence was pretty high going into taking the exam.
When I opened up the first testlet, I realized that the MC questions were much different/more difficult than the ones within becker. I flagged about 10 within each testlet that I had to re-review. I somehow managed to take about 2.5hours on the three testlets of MCs when on the becker practice exam, I would be close to being done with the sims. I was hoping the sims would be similar to the becker ones, which I did well on, but that wasn't the case as they were totally different. On the becker practice exams, there would always be one or two which were very easy and I would breeze by, I had to take my time with all the sims with exception of one. Felt like they were totally out of left field.
I finished the exam with 5 seconds left, never thought that would have happened especially after doing so well on the becker quiz questions & practice exams. If this is supposed to be the easiest part out of the four and I don't pass, it's going to suck lol.
Ok, well that's my story/rant…looking forward to whenever they feel like releasing this window's score, guessing Sept.

yankeeaccountantParticipantI use Becker for studying–this was the software of choice at the firm I was with at the time–but I recently started to add the Wiley testbank to my studying and started passing exams. But there are alot of the same questions in Becker and Wiley. I just think that Wiley does a better job of asking a question that necessitates you to think it through –and those were the kind of questions that I got on the exam. So, I felt like they were good practice.

ScruffMcGruffMember@syyuchen, I took AUD a few weeks ago and before going in I put in about 60 hours in worth of studying. Overall I would say that around 60-70% of the questions I was like, “I'm pretty sure Becker asked me this question in some form or another during the review”. Obviously they were not copy-paste, but they were VERY similar.
On top of that another 15-20% of the questions I thought that while I don't remember a similar question being asked from Becker, I thought that the review materials covered that question enough so I could answer it correctly.
Finally, you just need to be prepared for the fact that, unless you are some kind of super-genius or did some ridiculous studying, about 10% of the MC questions you're going to be guessing on. Half of them might be educated guesses where you have it down to a few answers, or there might be a few where you have NO IDEA!
Anyhow, if you leave the exam room and are upset that you were totally not prepared for a few questions/sims, just know that almost everyone felt the same way in some respect.
@Llave, I thought that a few of the sims were easy, but I do agree that a few of them were ridiculous compared to Becker's sims. I also had a breeze with a vast majority of the Becker sims, but I'm pretty sure that I did not do well on 2-3 of the actual exam sims… On the other hand, I thought that 90-95% of the MC questions asked during the exam were ‘fair' and that Becker prepared me for them… If I got them wrong it was my own fault.

Z ManMemberHello All,
New to another71. I'm taking first exam (Audit) early August and am preparing using only Becker (only review my company supports). I have a fairly decent grasp of the materials (in my opinion), and have been scoring in the top 80's% in the review MCQs on first try. I have been reading posts regarding using additional review materials, and while I'm sure greater exposure will not hurt at all, what are your thoughts regarding preparing through Becker only?
I appreciate any feedback or advice!
Thanks!

Marivy22ParticipantI am in the same situation as Z Men, first time at another71, using Becker and starting my journey with AUD. Here is my situation and I need your feedback.
I have completed all lectures, MCQ's and Supplemental MCQ's and would like to ask you a couple of things:
1. Just after completing the Lectures, I went straight to the MCQ's and scored 70's% (most of the item), then I went back to the book for a ‘re-review” and went through the supplemental questions and scored between 85% and 90%. So I was kind of happy…. The question is, I am going into the right direction??
2. Now I have Becker Final Review and Exam, and Wiley's test bank. Considering that I am sitting for the test the 3rd week of August, which one should I tackle first Wiley's test bank of Becker's Final Exam??
I feel like I am half way through, so I am sure that the library will be my best friend for the next 3 weeks (at least for AUD), as I have a loud toddler at home :-)……….
Thanks everyone!!
Done 😉

ScruffMcGruffMember@Marivy22 If you go into your audit exam with over 90% of the MC questions from Becker down you should be good to go. Add in the fact that you are also using other review source(s) and that should be even better.
Only thing I would add to this is that if you're scoring at/above 90% on the MC section(s), make sure you are getting the questions right because you UNDERSTAND why your answer is correct, not just because you've seen the question five times already. As long as you're not cheating yourself and saying something like ‘Hey I got a 90% on the MC' but really you only know about 50-60% of the content/answers, then you should be good.

yankeeaccountantParticipantMarivy22.
Welcome to the rat race!! I have to agree with ScruffMcGruff, if you are scoring really high, you should be cognizant if you are understanding why it is right. I use Becker as well, and for me, I was scoring in the 85-90's for BEC and I was confident. I felt like I started to memorize the answers on Becker. So, I decided to focus on Wiley, Gleim, and Cpareviewforfree in the last 4 days of review. I think using different test banks is smart, because you become accustomed to a certain way one program will ask a question and their overall format. I found that Wiley asked questions that made you apply what you knew and took it a step further. I felt like this prepared me for those questions that came out of nowhere. The Gleim questions were just the hardest. But it was a good study tool. Gleim allows you to get a free trial, so it is an easy way to try a new test bank.
I am taking Audit in August and will use Becker, Wiley, and Cpareveiwforfree to study with.
You sound like you are on a good path–keep going, you will do well.
Best of luck.
