yankeeaccountantParticipantJomarie,
Kudos to you for your perserverance. You know you can do it—because you have done it. Keep it up…..you are getting to the finish line! BTW I saw your blog post—your girls are beautiful! I can't imagine studying with little ones….I have one in high school the other one in college and I can barely keep my head on straight. Maybe it is my age??!! Who knows.
What are you using for Audit?

phillyrocks87ParticipantHELP! A parter at my work saw me studying for AUD this morning, and he claimed I have to remember “Bank is Mop”. I tried googling this and can't find anything. Has anyone ever heard of this? I feel like it had something to do with consolidations in FAR and not AUD. Anyone have any idea?

74reallyParticipantHow does everyone study for simulations? I keep getting “weak” results and “strong” in MC so that has to be why I can't pass.. I try to do as many as I can but you will never get one similar to the practice ones.. any advice my test is thursday lol
REG 81.. BEC 75 (close one) AUD 63,73.. FAR 67,74..

jomarieParticipantyankee – This time around I've used Becker, Wiley Online Test Bank, and Jeff's NINJA's notes. Using Jeff's idea of taking notes and rewriting them think really helped me. My focus has been I'm doing this for my family. Jacqueline, my older one, understands that Mommy is going to school and taking tests. I've made a promise to her that after Mommy's done and passed all exams I'll take her to Disney. We are all working together for that goal. My husband has been spending a lot of time with the girls and we haven't really been spending time together. We are always on the go go go. I don't think about it, I just do it!!
ayon – Thank you!! I'm still going at it!! LOL!!

IwannaBaCPAParticipant@jomarie: I don't know how you keep at it with young children! I am impressed by you and others who are able to handle your families, jobs and studying! I mean, I too am married with a job, but no children yet and I couldn't imagine! And the fact that you have passed parts and they have since expired, yet you are still at it is very impressive! Keep going for it and it will pay off eventually! I wish you the very best of luck!
I take Audit next Monday and am really afraid of the SIMS…I am hearing horror stories and am not really sure of the best way to prepare for them…
BEC: 79 - April 2011
FAR: 78 - May 2011
AUD: 81 - May 2012
REG: 79 - October 2012
Ethics: Passed - March 2013
I am finally DONE!July 13, 2011 at 8:08 am #373124

OneStepAwayCPAParticipantI have a question, what is The best way or how to study the tbs? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

kb24Participant@onestepaaway
You should do enough practice SIMS to make sure you understand the types of formats you're likely to see on the exam, but the best way to prepare is to do lots of MCQ. It's highly unlikely that you'll see SIMS on the exam like the ones you practice, but doing lots of MCQ will help you better understand the material. The only additional recommendation I have is to be comfortable with J/E. There are a couple of recent threads on this topic.
FAR 4/1/11 - 89
AUD 4/15/11 - 85
REG 4/29/11 - 80
BEC 5/13/11 - 85July 14, 2011 at 7:33 am #373127
OneStepAwayCPAParticipantKb thanks for your reply. Yes I will go over the mc over and over. I'm just scared at the difficulty of the tbs & being 40% now. Eek!

Sdb2fsuParticipantSo my AUD retake is July 28th and wanted your opinion. I got a 73 last time and have reviewed every Wiley question in the testbank. I'm going to rewrite my notes again but the question is should I invest in the Roger cram? I've heard good things but want to make sure it will be worth it…..
BEC - 60, 71, 79
AUD - 73, 66, 87!!!!! Yes! I am done!
REG - 74, 76
FAR - 75Yaeger Review for all except my last AUD score (Roger)!

AnonymousInactiveJust took AUD today. Not sure how I feel about it. After leaving FAR and REG, I was sure I failed and ended up passing, so who knows. I'm split on my thoughts for the MCQs; some were obvious and some were out of left field. I also had one that was basically repeated 3 times. The SIMS were better than I expected, but certainly not a cake walk. I had 2 research tabs, which I thought was weird. Also, I was pretty much able to look up two of my other SIMS. Well, it will be a long wait until September!

john.doe1121ParticipantHello All,
I am just starting audit and I have my exam in two weeks. I am using becker and i was looking for advice from those who took the exam in the last window or recently in this window on the best way to prepare for the sims. Maybe what underlying areas to focus on or a certain something to be sure to practice. Maybe some kind of common theme (without breaking any rules) among the sims. anything that would be helpful in focusing my attention on as i go through and later in my final review or possibly anything you wish you had known going into your exam would be greatly appreciated
@kb24 i just cracked the audit book, are journal entries going to be a big deal for audit to the extent they were in FAR?
thanks
