@stokey45: I used the cpaforfree site (the free questions only) as a tool when I was reviewing. I found that they helped me to refresh the material and their questions did sometimes frame the information in a different way than my Wiley Books. I didn't feel like they necessarily played a big role in helping me study for the exam but I figured there was no harm in at least getting exposed to more questions and continuing to reinforce the concepts. Plus its free and you can't beat that.

@big hitter – yes engagement letters are required for basically anything: compilation, review, audit, etc…issuer and nonissuer

Am taking Audit on the 28th for the first time and am working through Roger CPA/Wiley test bank.

Are the Becker Test Bank questions quite different from Wiley?

@jking12 You think there were only around 5 familiar questions from Becker MCQ. I was reading a post a few days ago, which I just cannot find again which said that most questions were from Becker.

I am considering getting Becker, as I still have 10 days to go……

Any advise from anyone would be much appreciated.

Okay Guys — I am scheduled to take the AUD exam tomorrow. I took a progress test today with the Becker Review Material and scored and 88. I am now going to review my fact nuggets and SIMs……anything I am forgetting about? I am getting nervous… the first time I took the progress test of 100 questions I got a 92 then 88 and now 88. I am hoping I will be good on the MCQ but again you never know.

If you have found something that you did the last day before your exam that helped you on exam day, please share.

    Thanks

Please CPA exam be kind to me tomorrow… ; P

Each test is different. Sampling may be on your test whether it was on someone else's or not. You should be prepared for it.

Thanks! I think you answered a question I asked about audit sampling- I don't see it here anymore. (Weird.) Thanks for the feedback. I took the exam 3 years ago and there was hardly any sampling but a lot of IT and Internal control. I know the exam is different every time so I will prepare for everything. I got out my old audit textbook and it explains concepts so much better for sampling. I'm also going to listen to my Yaeger lecture again on that topic. My hunch is that they will really emphasize reporting so I am going to memorize all the reports. I wasn't told to do that 3 years ago, but they are advising that now.

When I took my exam 2 weeks ago there were areas that my review course said would be heavily tested that were NOT heavily tested and there were other areas that they said would not be as heavily tested but ended up being tested with very detailed questions. My advice would always be if its in your materials, learn it because the CPA exam is different each time someone takes it.

Good luck stokey45!! I will be anxious to hear about your experience. Sounds like you are doing really well with your progress tests. Basically I just did those and looked over SIMS as well as all the questions I had printed out that had tripped me up during the progress tests. Get a good night's sleep and relax…………..you got it this time!!

    Need some help-

Is an auditor required to issue an opinion on supplementary info? From what i gather, an auditor is required to “apply certain procedures to supplementary information and add an explanatory paragraph.”

Also is there a difference between “other information” and “supplementary information”? Tim wasn't very clear on this topic.

    Thanks in advance

I believe an auditor is supposed to read the information and if it conflicts with the audited financial statements must point that out in the explanatory paragraph if the client refuses to correct. However, if the supplementary is required by the SEC or GAAP then it becomes audited information.

Anyone else have thoughts on this topic?
