    @AnnaStefani,

I think taking 3 exams in one window is tough while working full time. I commend you for going for it. I haven't taken REG yet so I can't give any info on that. But I think I would attack the exam that feels more of a challenge after you take Audit. Just looking at your scores, maybe you should go for REG first then BEC since you were so close. I would suggest to augment your study materials with some other test banks. For BEC, I found Gleim to be great. I actually just used a free trial for this. I thought Gleim did a great job on Corporate Governance. I use Becker as well and I feel like I start to memorize the questions fairly easily. I typically use Becker, Wiley, and CPAreveiwforfree for most exams. I think utilizing different test banks gives you a well rounded approach. I found that Wiley for FAR and BEC were great practice. It seems like they take the questions a bit further, they get you to think a bit more , which prepares you for those questions you get on the exam that seem to come out of nowhere. My opinion. Best of luck!!

    @ Audit takers this window!

I am here again. I got a 68 (bummer). I took 3 exams last window and felt the strongest about Audit and that was the one I failed. Go figure. I am going to use Becker and Wiley again. But I am thinking about using a cram: either Yaeger or Roger. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I used a Yaeger cram on FAR and it seemed to gel everything together for me. I will be sitting at the end of August, and taking REG the end of July.

    Best of luck guys!!!

    Anna,

I took all 4 sections this window, but I wasn't working and studied 75-80 hours per week. Doing 3 sections while working would be tough. You can definitely take them, but will you have enough time to study for them and pass? It would be better to only take one in addition to AUD and be able to put enough work into it to pass both than to take both and fail them again. You need to look at your schedule in detailand figure out how much time you'll be able to study after you finish AUD and decide if that is enough to prepare you for both REG and BEC before the end of August. Ask yourself how good did you feel about your grasp of BEC and REG after you left the exams, and why do you think you failed them? Was it trouble with time management, not knowing the material in sufficient detail in general, good knowledge overall but weakness in a few areas, or some other reason? That should help you determine how thorough a review you need to do and whether or not you have enough time.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I'm looking at Fraud risk factors….is management override considered an opportunity or an attitude/rationalization. The Becker text says override is an opportunity (which I thought initially).

But the answers to some of the questions and practice SIMs label management override as an inappropriate “attitude” and management rationalizes it. I think it could be both. This seems really confusing and I am not sure which to indicate if asked on the actual exam. Ideas?

    Becker is completely contradicting themselves.

    B - 85 (5/31/11)
    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)

    Management override = opportunity

    Inappropriate attitude leads to rationalization

So I guess the possibility of an override is the opportunity but once it has occurred repeatedly the risk factor present is the Rationalization. I guess that makes more sense now, thanks.

I take the test in 2 days so I am looking over everything that seems confusing.

    B - 85 (5/31/11)
    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)

I am taking AUD next week, which will be my first attempt on any of the tests. Can anyone provide insight on the extent of international content on the test? I feel like Becker does not get into much detail on this topic, simply adding in a number of random standards throughout the course. Thank you!

    AUD - 83
    FAR - 79
    BEC - 90
    REG - 83

So, a number of people have mentioned using the Authoritative Literature to help with the AUD sims. Can anyone provide an example or strategy of how this works and on what kinds of questions this is useful?

@minimorty: I have not taken any exams yet but from the research I've done and the practice sims in Wiley Online test bank, this is what I understand.

Within the sims there is a tab for authoritative literature. A sim may provide you a scenario then ask you to cite the specific standard and section. Here you would do a key word search. Other sims may ask you to select from drop down menus. For instance, they may ask you to select whether a planning procedure is appropriate or not. If you are not sure what the standards call for in planning an audit, you can use the authoritative literature tab to look up the standard. That research, though, takes time away from the rest of your exam so it is advised to be cautious of that.

I hope this helps a bit.

For my sanity there is only one set of simulation problems correct? I had 7 on one set and I was thinking there was another set of 7. Thanks in advance…
