@stockey45: Yes i m practicing both Becker 2011 and wiley test bank 2012. I remember last time i was so confused between test of controls and Audit evidence on substantive testing.

This time i practiced these question in Wiley test bank 2012. I must say it really cleared my concepts compared to becker 2011 mcq . I learnt lots of tricks and techniques in Wiley test bank. May its just me because there are so many question in wiley to practice and yes practice makes you perfect. you should spend one day doing 269 MCQ for Audit evidence and 190 MCQ for internal control test in wiley test bank . You would be much more confident.

PS: wiley test bank 202 would be closed on monday from 9 am to 5pm for website maintenance.

    GOOD LUCK!!:-)

I just finished my initial run through Becker MCQs for Audit. I averaged only about 73% in aggregate for initial review of the questions and haven't done any simulations yet. I have 2 weeks before my exam. Since it appears there is not much calculation on the exam relative to BEC and FAR, does this mean the SIMs end up being even more pivotal on AUD? Also, should I just plug away on the MCQs again or really dig into the SIMs. I want to be efficient with my remaining time.

    BEC 89

    FAR 79

    AUD – 7/13/2012

    @ChrisinLA

I would recommend you practice some SIMs before exam day. I do not think it is a good idea to go in without doing any SIMs practice.

I have taken AUD 3x and it is difficult for me. You may be different but I needed practice in both areas. My first exam I ran out of time to study and decided to take it anyway. Scored a 65. My second time (in the middle of tax season) I focused on SIMs and did stronger in that area but weaker in MCQs. Scored a 74! Last time I overcompensated by focusing on MCQs and getting ranked stronger, comparable, stronger, comparable, weaker and on the SIMS I ranked weaker scoring a 72!

So an answer your question, in my opinion, do as much as you can of both SIMS and MCQs. You never know what your exam will be like; it may be of areas you are very familiar or it may be areas that did not stick in your head too well.

    Good Luck to you!

@stockey45: Wow you got stronger in SIMS! So how did you practice sims? Did you use just Becker ? On my report – i was comparable in MCQ and weaker in sims ( or may be weakest LOL) . Did you use authoritative literature in exams? And approx. how much time you spend on one sim during exam ?

I am still not very confident in SIMS . I am still getting 70% . I just over think , I don't know!

    @Nam

I completed the SIMs with Becker only and I got a SIM that I was familiar with. It was regarding ratios and I just reviewed one last time before I went into the exam. I also knew that I nailed the research question. I found the answer almost word for word in the authoritative literature. As for the time I spent, I probably had about 1.5 – 1.75 for the SIMs and I used every bit of the time I could going back and looking to see if I needed to change anything.

You will do fine.. Just review as much as you can and try to understand why you get something wrong when and if you get it wrong.

As for over thinking. Can I just say…I am totally the same way! I am doing the questions on chapter 4 in Becker and see this is an area I need to review again! And because I am not doing as well as I feel I should be at this point (having already taken the test 3x) I am over thinking each question and picking it apart resulting in a wrong answer. Oh my*sigh* Sometimes we make it worse for ourselves by trying too hard.

Keep your chin up; I know this is not easy! Just remember the more you review and understand why an answer is incorrect the better off you will be. I keep trying to tell myself that it was another opportunity to teach myself the correct answer before the exam!

Good Luck to you and I will be anxiously awaiting to hear how you do!

    hey stockey45,

Thanks for encouraging, I am going to spend half of my Sunday on all the Becker simulations and some of wiley sims.

I have started memorizing control test & substantive test procedures ; just to avoid “my own audit procedures” LOL

II will keep you posted about my exam experience and results. 🙂

    Back to Simulation..:D

Does anyone know if we are penalized for taking “too much time” to complete simulations … ie. if you save 2 hours for Sims and use the full 2 hours … does it factor into your score the amount of time it took you to complete???

No 😉 that should not affect your score.

    Hi guys,

I need help, I thought the correct answer is option A because CPA provided attestation on subject matter and assertion on subject matter. I am confused.

Which of the following are required on all attestation engagements?

    Suitable criteria Written assertion

    A. Yes Yes

    B. Yes No

    C. No Yes

    D. No No

@Nam, is it B? Written Assertion isn't necessarily required?

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58
