From what I read on this forum and from what my friends tell me, the consensus seems to be that if the exam is getting harder it means you’re doing well. On my test however, my testlets went from hard hard easy. Has anyone experienced this and passed? I’ve taken the other parts of the CPA and they all went easy hard hard. I didn’t study too much for audit but I averaged around 80 on Becker progress tests and practice exams.

@cpacrammer I had the exact same experience, and I took my exam around the same time you did. I also averaged around 80% in my Becker final exams.

FAR - 86 (July 2014)
AUD - 85 (Aug 2014)
REG - 80 (Oct 2014)
BEC - 81 (Nov 2014)

It's not even possible that the testlets got easier. If you read the AICPA scoring FAQs – the first testlet is medium, and the other 2 are either the same or harder depending on how you do. Considering you thought it got easier, you probably did well.

Hard is relative though. It depends on your strong areas Vs. weak areas. I knew a testlet was harder when they asked more out of the box questions. The questions become very detailed.

I had SUPER EASY, hard, to CRAZY HARD. and still failed due to some crazy ass sims. obviously i didn't do well 🙁

mixed bag of easy one-two liners and somewhat hard (because they were on my weak topics) 5-6 liners (looks just like becker's questions)…. ALL testlets were 50/50 easy/hard. I only felt a very slight difference from 1 to 2. and 3 felt the same like 1 and 2. Did you take yours already also?

yeah last sunday. i kinda feel like you, mixed bag. had some calculations but its not like the whole testlet was calculation..idk if i felt a difference but i felt like the questions were like beckers so idk what that imposes.

Yeah, i got tested a lot on two topics that I wasn't comroftable with in my MCQs. However, the only thing I felt good about were my SIMS, i was comfortable with at least 4 that I completed it successfully with at least 50%, OR SO I HOPE ha. we shall find out monday …. idk what that imposes either because like i said, i failed aud with the difficult testlets but i had HORRIBLE sims for aud. like REALLY bad…. i didn't know a single one felt like.
