Studied using Becker. Here are my thoughts:

    1. Overall, I think Becker did a very fair job in preparing for the MCQs. I feel most of the MCQs that I practiced with were representative of the actual exam. I feel a bit confident because I saw an increase in difficulty on the 2nd MCQ testlet, so that must have meaned that I did well on the first testlet.
    2. The DRS were effing hard. I feel Becker did not really do well in preparing me for those, and I didn’t take the AICPA sample exam, and now I regret. For all the other sims, I feel the Becker did a good job in preparing me.

Is it normal to feel like you bombed the simulation testlets after taking Audit? I was running out of time and I had to guess on my last 2 questions in the last simulation, so I know that I lost those points. But I feel that I didn’t do too well on the DRS simulations. If I had to guess, I’d say that I scored 60% in the simulations.

Since I didn’t do so well in the sims, is there a chance that I may have failed the exam? As mentioned, I feel I did good in the MCQs, since the 2nd testlet was slightly more difficult than the first testlet.

I hope that one of the DRS and was a pretest simulation. I’m hoping to get atleast a 75%. But who knows?

From my experience with FAR- I left crying with a good amount of sims completely guessed on only to find out I passed. Keep your head up. I am testing AUD Wednesday.

@cramming thanks for the kind words.
I hope that’s the case for me. Being that I took auditing today, I’ll go out on a limb and say, don’t underestimate the simulations. I can’t really say what topics you should expect due to the confidentiality of the actual exam topics, but make sure to practice with the AICPA practice test.

Also testing Wednesday. That experience sounds about right: MCQs fair, SIMs hard. You must have passed though, especially if you only ended up guessing in 1 simulation , that too towards the end.

Took the exam last week on Thursday. I thought the first MCQ testlet was easy. I'm not sure how I did not on the second testlet but the questions were definitely more wordy and I had to think and cancel out answer choices. SIMS were so subjective, I could narrow my answer to two items and kept on going back and forth on the answers. I don't think any amount of studying could've prepared me for the SIMS. I kept on changing on my answers in the fields, it felt more like a MEGA MCQ.

@cottonkandi How did you feel with this exam relative to the first audit exam? Did you feel that you did bette on this exam?

I took AUD 2 weeks ago and have a similar feeling. I felt MCQ were easy. I saw an increase in difficulty in the 2nd testlet but Becker did very well so they were still easy to me. But then the SIMs were super hard. I know I nailed my research question and 1 other SIM, but the others I was very thrown off by them. Praying for a pass on Tuesday, and to be done with this examination process.

    I had similar experience.
The MCQs are fair but SIMs are difficult.
I completely guessed on one SIM and others I am not so confident.
I am sure I got the right answer on the research SIM.
My stomach was weird during the second part of the exam.
I had to last testlet asap so that I can go to the restroom.
probably the worst test experience among the four.

AUD is such a weird test. I took BEC and REG first and thought I struggled on those and scored a 91 and 92. I walked out of AUD thinking I absolutely crushed it and based off my other scores was hoping for a 95+. Instead it was my worst score by a fairly wide margin. On top of that, I am an external auditor and had 2.5 years of experience when I took the AUD exam. Go figure.

Same thing happened to me PJ. I'm thinking it's due to the lack of question difficulty on that exam. On the FAR exam if you get 80% right you probably score a 95 or better. On AUD I bet that same 80% correct only nets you an 80 in their scoring system. This would mean there would be much less leeway for error on AUD. If you get one question wrong you lose more points than if you get one question wrong on the other exams. Just pure speculation but I've seen several other people besides me and you who had exceptional scores on all exams and AUD was their lowest, despite walking out of the exam feeling extremely confident. I prepared harder for AUD than any of the other exams and was positive I nailed it. I was really expecting a 98 or 99 score, not 88.

Reminds me of ACT vs SAT in high school. SAT questions are so easy but my score was just decent, not great. ACT is much harder and I nailed it 99th percentile. I don't do well on easier tests because I end up making stupid mistakes. Or maybe I trick myself into thinking the question is more complicated than it actually is and don't pick the obvious answer.

Took AUD today. MPQ was pretty straightforward but I know I missed some. The SIMS were nothing unexpected either, I know for sure I got the research question and should of gotten atleast half if not majority of all the other SIMS right. Lets hope for the best!

@rollforwardspecialist I felt like I knew more than the first time I took the test. First test was a blur, For MCQ's I got comparable and I couldn't tell if the test got harder or not and this time taking it, I thought the MCQ's were much easier on the first testlet and more wordier and indepth on the second testlet. For SIMS, on the first test, I felt like I made a lot of silly mistakes, and ended up doing weaker. This time I felt that atleast for 1 of the SIMS, I got 100% and the rest 50/50. With the exception of 1 SIM, which I think is a pretest, I had a general idea of what the questions were asking me to find. I found myself isolating two answers, so hopefully I chose the right answer, fingers crossed!

Took the exam ultimate week on Thursday. I thought the first MCQ testlet was easy. i'm no longer sure how I did no longer on the second testlet however the questions have been really extra wordy and that i had to think and cancel out solution choices. SIMS were so subjective, I could narrow my solution to 2 objects and kept on going back and forth at the answers. I don't assume any amount of reading ought to've prepared me for the SIMS. I saved on changing on my answers within the fields, it felt greater like a MEGA MCQ.
