Looked at my score yesterday and saw that I failed AUD once again with a 69 (70 last time). I really have no clue what to even do. I use Roger right now and supplement with NINJA MCQ. Perhaps have to change scenery? I really thought I passed it too. I got the an exact sim on second attempt and none of my questions got harder. Now you might say that’s my problem but all my passes have come from me not getting harder questions so that’s why I kind of thought I was going to get a little above a 75. Anyway what do you Ninja’s think I should do?

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - 76
    FAR - 78
    REG - 81
    FAR- Passed first try
    AUD- Failed 5 times....
REG- Failed 2 times, Passed 3rd time
    BEC- Passed first try

    F- 78
    A- 70, 69, 74, 70
    R- 68, 70
    B- 76

the thing that sucks is I just moved to pa from nj for work. not transferring my scores until im done (not that long of a commute back to nj). In NJ prometrics are so far apart. Theres on in SJ (20 min from where I used to reside) and then the next one is in North Jersey (I would say central but theres no such thing and that's another debate). So changing scenery is possible but I have to change my planning.

When I took AUD the first time I thought I passed when I left…I got a 69. Second time, I got a 94. I got access to GAAS (you can get online AICPA literature access free for 6 months) and as I studied mcqs, I cross referenced it. You can learn a lot from the auth library…Also, as I studied the MCQs, I paid more attention to how the question was asked and the answer provided (i.e. the question referred to controls testing and 3 of the answers were substantive test. so even if I didn't know the specific answer, as long as i know the incorrect answers were all substantive test, then I would know they are wrong). AUD is tricky in that you really have to pay attention to how the questions are asked and the answers provided. Greater attention to detail I guess. I spent less time reviewing the study guide and more time trying to understand the mcq answers, both right and wrong.

    Good Luck!

    FAR 84
    BEC 83
    AUD 69, 94
    REG 74, 73, 83

    Ethics then done!!!

@jigyasa-Something else to keep in mind also as you are studying and are taking note of your wrong answers, see how that particular question fits into the overall audit process…don't just try to answer questions but see how those questions fit into the overall process, form the beginning of the engagement, client acceptance, etc…to risk assessment, planning and how that info will impact the amount of testing you need to do based on the audit risk model…then to what you need to do to wrap up the audit. I think it helped me personally with AUD to see how everything fit holistically and not just try to remember random facts. With FAR, REG and BEC you have different concepts you need to understand but with AUD there is a process involved and the Wiley Book I believe has that structure. If you look at GAAS, you will also see that “flow” in the clarified standards…just imagine yourself going through the process of conducting an audit…that helped me tremendously and took me from a 69 to a 94.

A couple things that helped me pass Audit:

    1. Know where you are in the audit process when they are asking the question.
    2. Create a cheat sheet for the cycles.
    3. Create a cheat sheet for all of your engagements along with details on each.
    4. Read the question carefully. One word will could throw you off to another topic easily. One advantage is the time is on your side in audit. I finished audit with 30 minutes left.
    5. Just keep doing the MC again and again. Write down why you got your questions wrong and learn.

    STEP 6: PASS 🙂

    FAR - 84
    REG - 86
    AUD - 90
    BEC - 88

KO the test in 5 months even though I am a dummy!
