I just saw my first Audit research sims…um, these are by far the hardest of the 3 exams. How are you supposed to know what they want you to find?

Also, all the solutions are AU-C. Does this mean they don’t want us to use AU?

Took my AUD exam yesterday. I had two research questions and I hope I answered it correctly. I don't remember if it had AU-c or AU!!! Now that makes me worry! I hope I didn't over look that information otherwise I will have two wrong SIMs already! 🙁

I know my reply doesn't answer your question but I just wanted to put it out on the forum incase if anyone else knows/remembers from their exam.

I believe AU-C is for the clarified standards which apply to non issuers. I have failed Audit twice and it was mostly because of the Sims. I know I did terribly with the research questions. The key to getting them right is reading the question because that is where what they want you to find is. I practice at least 2 research questions when I study. I used to get them wrong all the time because I would think I knew what the question was asking. Practice. Practice. Practice.

You need to focus on key words. I took the exam on 10/28 and was able to find my question on the first attempt. Look for key words like “audit, compilation, or review.” Also, use the advanced search instead of the basic search. I have to agree that practice is essential to finding research questions.

Example: I just did a research Sim that I answered with AU 336.16, but the given Becker answer is AU-C 620.15. They pretty much say the same exact thing.

Use only AU-C. On my exam, the AU section wasn't even an option.
