    Hi Ninjas!

I was wondering if anyone was considering further torture and pursuing one of the other credentials? I’ve been doing taxes for 8 years in public accounting and I am really considering the CFP exam.

I mostly do tax returns for closely held companies and then I do the 1040s for the individual partners or shareholders. When they ask me about exercising options or any type of financial planning, I feel like a complete moron.

Has anyone experienced this? Are there any CFPs out there that can share their experience? Do you think I need anything additional to my CPA license since I’m a tax accountant? I really don’t know that I care so much about the letters after my name. It’s more to learn about financial planning and investments.

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂

I just finish my CPA exams this week, and I have already started my CFA level 1 study right away. Hopefully, I can catch the June 2014 exam. I am on CFA level 1 ethics section now.

@bb, I've also completed my CPA exams just recently. What review provider are you using for the CFA?

how does the difficulty of the CMA relate to the CPA exam? also, is there an 18 month policy like there is with the CPA after you pass the first section? considering doing it after the cpa but thinking i don't want to spend every night studying if i can stretch it out a bit

I did my research on CMA license a while back and concluded that CMA must be more difficult than CPA because they test you on detailed info about cost accounting, etc. It's a 2 part exam. And prep materials + exam fees + license fees = A LOT of $….not sure if it's worth it after getting an already expensive CPA license, so I'll pass….

    More info here:

    https://www.imanet.org/cma_certification/current_cma_candidates/flexible_study_options.aspx

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
