    Not sure if anyone would be interested in doing this, but I figured it may be fun to pass the time…I work Big 4, so for all I know someone on this forum that I see post regularly could be sitting on the same client as me a cubicle over or something!

    Nobody seems to really post any detail on who their employer is or what office they are out of. I can’t imagine that it’s really that private of information as it’s on my facebook profile, I recruit at colleges, and hand out business cards. Friends of friends know where I work…

    …so, here – I’ll start it off.

    I am with EY and work in the Detroit location in the Advisory practice.

    EDIT – I am a Senior 1…had three years govt experience prior to going Big 4 and came in as Staff 2.

    I am working in a Bank… collector…and they “promoted” me to loan modifications “agent”. They keep telling me that promotions come with years …within the low end pay jobs …and within HS requirement for that promotion….(yeah, that applies to HS graduates)….

    I have a MBA, (management), undergraduate accounting degree from CUNY. That's why I want to change my life… to be a CPA :))). And I know I can do it. To prove myself I am not a collector. How ridiculous is that?! But I have 4 yrs of accounting experience, last title Assistant Controller for a retailer – fashion industry NY.

    I am currently completing my undergrad degree at a small college in Southeastern Ohio. I've been working for a small firm (about 20 people) with offices in Ohio and West Virginia over the summer and last year. There, I do everything from tax returns, to compilations, reviews, payroll taxes and live payroll processing. I am also the IT manager for the firm, so I get to keep 6 year old servers from completely breaking down and crippling our firm.

    From January through April, I worked for EY in Charleston, WV in assurance, which is probably EY's smallest office with only about 30 people. I accepted a full-time offer from them in May and will start working there again in January after graduation.

    Right now, I am just trying to get a couple sections of the CPA exam down while in transition. I am taking it through Alaska because you don't have to have your degree to sit for the exam; you only have to be within 15 hours of completing it (which I am, since this is my last semester). I will then transfer it to West Virginia after passing everything.

    Starting w PwC in DC metro area in 2 weeks, advisory team.

    @cant wait to be cpa

    Are you currently in DC area, had any internships in public acctg? You can def find a position in public w your CPA, the size of the firm may vary tho. Big 4 may take u as associate level, but then again u might have to take a major salary cut (well depends how much you make now). Smaller firms may pay more in your situation… I had 25+ interviews with public acctg & finance firms in the DC area over the past year so let me know if you need any info on them.
