My family and I will be relocating to the Kansas City area and I have started applying for new jobs (Senior Accountant or similar). So far I have absolutely no luck. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on improving my resume. Is there a site or service anyone has used to get help with their resume? Thanks!

I got help with my resume by getting a mentor through my state CPA society (membership required) and she was very helpful. I got noticed right away with the new version. You could join the Kansas or Missouri CPA society depending on which Kansas City you are moving to and network through there, too. In CO they used to have a resume service that would work with employers with jobs – they have changed that now and I hate the new service. I do a lot of things with my state society and did so before getting licensed because they do allow CPA candidates to join (for a lower fee.) I think these connections have helped me more than the rewrite on my resume. You can also connect with CPAs in the state where you are moving through the communities setup online by the state society.
    Good luck!
