Moving from Auditing to Compilation and Review Services

I passed the CPA exam and have 3 years experience in audit. That’s enough experience to affirm that I don’t like audit. I have also worked on some review and compilation engagement. I do like those. I love financial accounting and analysis. Again, I do not like audit.

I want to stay in public accounting, but only on review and compilation engagement. Does anyone feel the same? Has anyone talked to their partners / HR about it?

Yeah I definitely agree. Like you, I also have 3 years experience, but at my firm I'm pretty much 50/50 between audit and tax but most of my “audits” are actually reviews. I only have 2 jobs that are audits. I do mostly reviews and the occassional comp/agreed upon procedures. I definitely prefer reviews over audits, for sure. But I'm more concerned with getting as much experience as possible in all different areas, so I haven't really asked the partners to move me away from audits.
