Experience Dilemma-How Long is Exam Valid?

    Hi,

I was just wondering how long the CPA exam typically stays valid for, after passing all 4 sections?

I’ve passed the last of the 4 sections, over 1 year ago, but I can’t seem to fulfill the experience requirement, which my state mandates. Essentially, how long can I typically hold the exam for, without actually filing for it. I’m within a NASBA state, if that makes any difference.

Really hope I don’t lose credit for taking and passing this damn thing.

B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

I think the exam is valid forever, you will just have CPE stuff to take care of once you meet the experience to get your license. At least, that's how it is in IL.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 82
    REG - 78
    Ethics - 95
    Licensed in IL & MO

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

Good question. I have the same concern. Here is a previous thread, https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/score-expire-after-passing-all-4-sections/

Looks like the consensus is that they are valid forever, without expiration. That is good. Think I am going to take a few months off before taking the ethics exam.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - 86
    REG - 89

I didn't think they expire either.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 64, 77
    FAR - 73, 73, 73, 82
    Ethics: 74, 84, 98
    Finally done after 23 months.

It expires in some states like Mass, which is terrifying in this economy. I don't think it expires in NASBA states though, I hope?

People don't realize how difficult it is to land, outside of campus recruiting. I've been on well over 4 interviews for entry level positions at firms, alone this fall. Many were after passing through a phone screen on-top of the in-person interview. I'm also sitting on the CFE exam, which I also can't fulfill the experience requirements for as well.

Exams don't expire in MA, once you've passed all four in the 18 mos. I think there's one or two states in which you have to be licensed within five years but MA is not one of them.

“How long do I have to apply for the license before my Uniform CPA Examination (Exam) credits expire?
If you sat under the 120 rule in Massachusetts, you have three years from the date you receive your passed score. If you sat under the 150 rule in Massachusetts, they do not expire. If you passed the Exam in a jurisdiction other than Massachusetts, there is no time limit.”

Thank the heavens. Got scared for a second there. Think that's only NASBA states though.

The 150 rule was implemented in 2007 so unless you passed all four more than ten years ago they're not going to expire. There's nothing about nasba or non nasba states either. Once you've passed all four anywhere they're good in MA.The exam is exactly the same in all jurisdictions.
