    Hi Everyone,

I am planning to start a tax preparation business to work on the side of my corporate 9 to 5. What is the best tax preparation software out there for a small business/start up? Any recommendations on resources for novices getting started or even what some seasoned pros refer to? I ordered the 2022 US Master Tax Guide (used at a great price) to start. Any other insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think Lacerte is the best. The only other software that I have worked with is ProSeries, which did not seem as robust as Lacerte. Although Lacerte may seem not as “user-friendly” as ProSeries if you are just starting out…. You really have to know what you are doing when using Lacerte.

I concur with Lacerte. Support is adequate and software is easy to learn and comprehensive. For a startup use their pay as you go. Factor in the software cost to your fees. Can get expensive but it is a passthrough expense. I have been using it for many years and it does everything I need for federal and state, individual, trusts and estates. I do not do business returns as I work solely for an estate planning law firm. Others will mention Drake which is more affordable and their support, I hear, is excellent. Have you started your application for your EFIN yet? You need to get that going now for the upcoming tax season. Applications take awhile.

Almost every student in the United States wants to achieve success in their academics. And if you want success as well then you would want to get good grades in your exams. Now it is possible for every student to get good grades.

There are many tax preparation software options available for businesses, and the best one for you will depend on your specific needs and budget. Some popular options include:

QuickBooks Self-Employed: This software is specifically designed for self-employed individuals and small business owners. It helps with tax preparation by tracking expenses and income, as well as providing a self-employment tax calculator.

TurboTax Self-Employed: This software is also geared towards self-employed individuals and small business owners. It includes features like expense tracking, a self-employment tax calculator, and the ability to import business data from QuickBooks.

It's a good idea to compare the features and prices of several different tax preparation software options before making a decision. You may also want to consider seeking the advice of a tax professional or financial advisor to determine the best solution for your business.
