Waiting after office interview - Page 2

I got an interview for experienced tax hire at one of the big four firms.

The process started from a recruiter talked with me over the phone about my general background and interest. Then another recruiter followed up with me after a few weeks and I had a phone interview with the partner. I really like the partner although I haven’t met with him yet. He was super nice over the phone. Then I was scheduled with an office interview with 2 senior managers yesterday.

The first manager was very nice and and I can feel that he likes me. Then it comes the second manager, he asked me some of the questions I didn’t expect to explain too much but he seemed like he wanted to dig further. I showed him my ppt (from my folder) and he let me walk him through it. I just gave him a general idea of the ppt. (I didn’t expect that he would let me explain the ppt to him!). Time went by quickly and he basically rushed through the interview.

Not it starts the waiting game. I am very worried whether the second manager liked me. I can feel the first manager liked me and the partner liked me though.

Any comments or signals of what I should expect? Thank you!

Great! I used to draft a thank you letter in word format and email the HR to forward the thank you letter. doc to the people I spoke to in other companies I have interviewed.

Do you think I can still contact the two interviewers if I get the contact info? Is it too late? I interviewed with them on Tuesday (01/21).

This potential job opportunity is just so important to me.

I don't want to show desperate or pushy but I don't want them to think that I am lazy and uninterested.

Any ideas what I should do now to improve my chance? Thank you!

I am of the opinion that late is better than not at all. Ideally within 24 hours but you'll know that next time!

Also for future I wouldn't use the same boilerplate thank you over and over again. Even if 2 people interview you together, they should each get a unique thank you. For example you may say to one “thank you for explaining the department dynamics to me” while you say to the other “when you asked about how I'd handle a difficult situation, I forgot to mention the time my coworker was out sick during a busy period and I was able to help get her work done without letting mine slip.”
